Shiner same got great idea I work for merchandiser we do garden stough and we recommend putting Owens around your lake that will keep birds away helps a lot buy few Owels Home Depot or Lowe’s shiner sam

Yes my bass and my tilapia are spawned, I see a lots of babies all around the ponds. I also have lots of catfish and bluegills in my other 2 ponds.

The gill area looks like bite markings of a turtle. But idk what could have bit through the back the em. Thats alot missing. Unless the fish died of natural causes an when the fish was already dead maybe a bunch of turtles did a smorgasbord. An that could b possible for missing half. But turles are known for attacking the gills on big fish. The fish bleeds out and suffercates. Sorry for your loss you put alot of time on your passion.

Could've been a eagle, hawk, osprey one of those and was to big to get it out or escape the grasp then died later and something else fed on it.

Is called ich, there's a medication for that and you can buy it from a pet store or get it online. Good luck.

Sorry about your bass. Could it have been a heron or a crane? Just a thought. With you mentioning a puncture hole in it, that was my first thought. Maybe the bass thought it was a human going to feed it and came in too close?

Osprey and the eagles are the predators cause I lost another one soon after. I saw an Osprey diving down in to the pond and I went to check it out, sure enough couple bass got hurt and had a claws mark on them. I'm gonna have to built them a place to hide.

Some trail cameras sound like a good idea. See what is going after your fish. Seems like a cat or something cause a wild animal would have eaten it. They hunt for food not to play or just waste it. They would not leave it uneaten sorry to say so this was a house animal or pet that is fed and bored. It could continue doing it so finding out what is doing it may be important.
