I pray he lives many years and teach all he has learned. Gracias.

I trained old school shotokan with Tabata sensei in the Boston area during the late 70’s. He would have a 3 day special training session twice a year with non stop training with little sleep. Everything was done for 1000 repetitions. Nothing in life was as difficult as that training!!! He beat you with a shinai sword if you cheated or weren’t working hard. 1000 push ups straight out!! 1000 head high kicks, with someone sitting on your shoulders!! If you dropped the person, he started counting again at 1. That was on the third day. I went twice. It took place in Lowell Massachusetts
All this conditioning works if you have the time & discipline to get there but in the absence of such a regime, your knuckles are naturally solid for a punch or hammer strike & anyone's elbow is a lethal weapon.

As evidenced where? Ryan Parker was an Okinawan Karate black belt, and he got destroyed by Judo/Jiu Jitsu fighter Remco Pardoel.

@@CynicalSnowflake An Okinawan master named Ryan Parker who was destroyed?

@@hichemgymart6615 Obviously he's not Okinawan, I never said as much. But I guess if he doesn't have a Japanese name, he's not a 'real' Karate master, huh?

@@CynicalSnowflake The technique! MacDojos are everywhere in the US! So don't mix up things.

@@hichemgymart6615 Except he wasn't from a McDojo. He trained for over a decade under a shihan who was given his rank by the founder of the style (seiyu oyata), so your no-true-Scotsman appeal doesn't fly here. He was as legit as they come, and he was destroyed by someone who trained in arts that actually work in real combat.

I have never seen any Karate ever used in a fight. I've only seen boxing and people rolling around on the floor. NEVER one single Karate movement even slightly suggested in a fight. I've been alive almost 50 years.

what about the most sporty of the Karate styles with Machida brothers in those mma sport fights? You actually see a lot of Karate techniques in most of those mma fights. Saved me with 2 techniques to confront a bad situation with a big guy 5 years ago.
@josef-peterroemer53092 жыл бұрын
That is because you have never seen a real karate person fight in earnest. What you see today that are supposedly Karateka who would never last in a Dojo like this Sensei's dojo. This guy is a real Karate Master like in the old days, there are only a few like him in Okinawa who condition like he does.
