I find it fascinating that Japanese people will find a park or bench or table to eat. Where I'm from people eat on the move while walking or driving or just standing anywhere. Even walking in a mall. About the only place we don't eat is inside a clothing or furniture shop or pharmacy. Even in the hairdresser they will order and serve you food.
