Great video, informative video and providing top view. I I'm taking pottery classes now and you have such great advice about amount of pressure needed and really appreciate your encouragement to continue to practice to get better and not get discouraged. Also but even though you're so good throwing you still let you still let us see your mistakes and how to correct for them. Thank you . Awesome belt buckle btw in your intro. In Texas, there are long horns near my town.

Wooh! It was soothing to watch until it became quite stressful. I was chewing my nails, worried that the whole thing might collapse! You did a brilliant job.

いま4回失敗しているところです。泣き。高さをだして拡げるところ真ん中あたりでへたります。コテに力がはいりすぎか?土がうすすぎか?少し土の量をふやしてひきはじめようかな? なんとかやってみます。いつもありがとうございます。

is it porcelain or stoneware clay? it's difficult to stretch stoneware to that thin

I tired this after drinking a few beers and ended up with an interesting plate. 🙃 Seriously, you can stretch stoneware like this. I practiced with smaller bowls and gradually made them shallower - I think it is just a case of perfecting the technique and believing the centrifugal force will maintain the shallow shape. Once you've seen it can be done you can scale up the size of the bowl. Good luck!

P.S. I just had an idea - you've probably seen people throw deep plates by bringing up the side of the plate. It only takes a few more steps to produce a type of shallow bowl - that should convince you that stoneware clay can stretch?
