That burning Godzilla gets half a star from me although it does look like he's about to become burning Godzilla. I have the heat ray one still, one of his spines is still bent and I don't know If heat will fix that. When was Mothra red?

About the variants, they were released a few months after the OG releases, each came with 2 cardboards. Rodan had a more redish brown paint instead of the red from the OG release, Ghidorah had some dark wash and mouths paint, they looked a lot better than the OG releases. Those rereleases happened with the 6 inches too, with the improved paint job AND they came with an extra vehicle They weren't exclusive from anywhere as far as I know, maybe from Walmart

Although it is small size, it is well. Mothra"s pattern on the feathers is also beautiful.

King Ghidorah did have manes in the movie, but only in one of the shots of him charging at Rodan. That was one of the first shots they made, and they removed the manes afterwards. I believe concept art or earlier models of him also had the thumb.

On variants: Yes they exist and they're the ones I bought. The Godzilla vs King Ghidorah set came with Mothra's temple and the stadium cards, The Godzilla vs Rodan set came with the volcano with another stadium card (same from the Ghidorah set) and the Godzilla vs Mothra set came with the same temple and volcano cards. You don't really get anything exclusive with these variant releases. I didn't buy the singular releases but they're exactly the same ones you get from the 2-packs.

The town in the Volcano image from 7:11 is from Antigua Guatemala, not Mexico, just to clarify, the environment you can see there specifcially is called "Arco de Santa Catalina". I live close to there.

The Jakks minifigures are particularly great to go alongside the Bandai Godzilla 2014 minis or the small Bandai vinyls (the candy toy ones). I saw the variants (two-background minis, two-building 6” flyers) at Walmart alongside their normal versions, so they were accessible here, I own both Rodans but am keeping the buildings (to also match 2014 buildings). If I dig out the alternate Rodan I’ll send it your way but I never noticed it looking so starkly different.

I don't just remember the "Fire Godzilla" name. I remember the time when the Burning Godzilla set leaked online and spoiled Burning Godzilla's appearance in the movie. Those were interesting times. Can't believe it's been 5 years already. 12:54 Can confirm. While I don't make it a priority to collect every figure they release, I do like collecting the figures of characters that normally don't get a lot of merch (such as E-123 Omega), and those figures slap.

They're so adorable! I wish I could've gotten them since I do enjoy Jakks other small figures of Mario and Sonic. Playmates also did had a wave of small figures for GvK similar to Jakks. But they only did just 3 (Goji, Kong, and Mecha) and were only at 5 below (at least to my knowledge cus I only ever got Kong.) Don't know if they're doing it again for GxK.

I haven't been caught up with the leaks as the movie is going to come out very soon anyways. So I'll see them eventually when they're on shelves. Still so hyped!

@javivaki Yes, there are carded figures of the main four! I’ve seen listings online but not in-store yet. The crystal figures are the even smaller size, identical to that set for GvK with Hellhawk, Warbat, and Behemoth, and have their own individual carded figures in an even more expansive set with Wartdog among others.

There must be second variation of these little battle packs because my version of the Godzilla/king ghidorah pack gives the two kaiju visibly different paint jobs compared to the ones in the video. The Godzilla has the same paint, just less heavy, as well as better painted eyes and teeth. Ghidorah ended up having a far better paint than its original, with shading all around the more dirty-gold base color, as well as teeth and mouth paint.

Funny. I have both Rodan and Mothra, with the exception of losing the cardboard backgrounds for both. Only thing I wanted from the line was a giant Mothra since they did it with Rodan and Ghidorah. Also, I remember these being a Wal-mart exclusive just like the Rampage and Skull island lines.

I'll be honest, I kinda love these figures. Fun little things to just bash into each other on occasion. Don't really have to worry about them taking a tumble or paint chipping and whatnot. I do agree that burning Godzilla needed a different paint job though.

I know there wasn’t a single set for mothra, atomicG, or thermo. You had to buy the two packs to get those 3. New Zealand also got the revamped version of these figures.

Oddly enough, the only 6-inch figures they made were of Rodan and Ghidorah. Mothra only had the mini figure. Godzilla had the bigger figure and the giant figure. Never made sense to me lol
