Shiny hunting in this game has been really fun! Buttertusk the shiny great tusk with the cloudwatcher mark and Ursula the shiny brute bonnet with the sleepy mark have been staples on my team. I love them so much. To anyone else that's also shiny hunting: You can do it, just DO NOT give up. I got my first shiny before I even got to the first town. A shiny Lechonk. I had not intended to use Lechonk. though I did think it was cute. His name is Rosendo, and he was my constant companion throughout Paldea, because if the game gives you a shiny in the first two minutes YOU USE THAT SHINY ON YOUR TEAM.

I wonder if it's a little bonus from the devs. In my Violet playthrough, I found a shiny Hoppip shortly after reaching the first pokemon center. In my Scarlet playthrough, I found a shiny Hoppip before I'd even reached the lighthouse! It was the sixth pokemon on my team xD Not sure if exceedingly lucky, or somehow designed that way by GF

This has nothing to do with shinies but I agree with area zero being the best area in the game. Especially when we first go there in the story. Just being there without your legendary and having the commentary from your friends in the background and just getting to really witness it all was so damn cool. One of my favorite parts of any Pokémon game

One of my favorite parts about this game is how for the first few days, I had no shinies, but I eventually found a few. Then when I completed the story lines and made my way through Area Zero for the first time, I found a full odds shiny Venomoth as well as a full odds shiny Scream Tail.

I think they wanted to avoid too many sparkles on the over world bc it would confuse audiences with the overworld terrastelized pokes but I think the Arceus noise and brief glimmer would be perfect still TwT

Once I get Scarlet/Violet, I would not be surprised is I walk past any shinies since I somehow can't see stuff other people can (distance wise in video games, despite a parent and my sister needing glasses), and im geussing its either I get too focused on other stuff or its just that I can't focus enough to spot out stuff... and the shiny indicators are the best thing for me to find a shiny, even if it doesn't appear in front of me, I could atleast hear that there is a shiny nearby and look for it

I'm halfway through the game still. 8 badges so far... but 100 hours playtime. Once I started shiny hunting I just couldn't stop myself. Not even worried that I need herbas or the charm. It's enjoyable even without those. Already at 17 shiny hunted this past week and a half. The hughlight of my week was yesterday. I was hunting Pawmo and got a few.. but next to that I got 3 FULL ODDS SHINY. All of them few minutes apart from each other. Of 3 different species that weren't from my Pawmo outbreak. Marril, Buizel and Psyduck. They all appeared in the same spot too which leads me to believe something was going on there due to how often that spawn point gave me the 3 different full odds shiny

Shiny Sparkles or sounds would be so much better not just for the subtle shinies but for the itty bitty pokemon like tadbulb, Flittle, and Sinestea whose sprites are so so tiny. The only reason I found my shiny Nymble is because I ran over him with my dragoncycle.

As someone who doesn't shiny Hunt, I was surprised when I found three shiny Pokémon, two in Scarlet, and one in Violet. The first one, was a shiny Girafig in Area Zero, and then a shiny Gyarados at North Provice Area 3, both in Scarlet. The third one was a Shiny Lechonk at the very beginning of the game (South Province Area 1), before I even went to Mesagoza for the First time. These are the first Non-forced shiny Pokémon I ever encountered and caught. The only other Shiny Pokémon I've encountered was a shiny Pidgy in Soul Siver MANY years back when I played Pokémon for the first time (I think it was my second run-through of the game). HOWEVER, it was early enough in the game to where I Couldn't even HAVE Pokéballs yet. I was so upset. But now I have three full odds shiny Pokémon in Scarlet and Violet, so I'm a little less upset about it. (Also congrats for reading all the way through this if anyone did.)

I've gotten 4 full odds shinies so far out of my hours of playing. A Pineco that I saw in a tree, a random Venomoth, a random snover and a random scyther! I've never had this amount of luck in a pokemon game before, especially without the shiny charm. Not to mention the venomoth, Snover and Scyther were all found on the same day- feel free to leave name suggestions for all of them, none of them have names yet!
