I ordered the marble because of THIS review. I just wish this watch had the prettier bracelet, like on the desert dial watches. Most people seem to not like it, but I love the polished center. It does make it dressier, that's what I'm looking for. A breath taking dress watch.

Very late to the San Martin appreciation club but I have to admit, from what I have seen in the metal, they are pretty impressive and now they appear to be raising their game even more. I am a bit of a 'Seiko-path' but if I was in the market for a budget GMT I would definitely look at this and the cheaper models with standard dials.

The White Marble looks to be Chinese Carrara .There is a plethora of Semi-precious Stone for San Martin to explore . I think the Marble would be my choice in this Model’s current offering . …. 👍

I've ordered this watch 2 day's ago, first time in Black Aventurine, I really love that dial , but after I realised that I already have 2 black watches in my collection,2 white, 1 blue and I decided to change the order and go for a Blue Lapis, that was the second favourite colour of the line.

@@ColdComrade I'm still waiting, they're on Chinese new year holiday, maybe after 20 February I'll get any order update. I don't think that I'll not gonna like it, especially for 250£ that I've paid for that. For my quartz , leather strap, white dial with roman numbers Tissot, I paid 220£ , but this SM looks way better even on photo + steal bracelet + decent Seiko Movement .

I'm loving san martin watches. I own a few and i find myself really liking that dial. Great job san martin. Just keep your prices good. Nice review. Congratulations on your new watch. Nice watch. The only thing that I wish is the seconds hands to be capped . 😊 The seiko is only good for it movement. I'll never buy a seiko. San martin is my choice and favorite brand.

3:13 That GMT hand is not snapping to the correct position. Seiko NH movements may be reliable but I have found them to have poor time keeping. Such a nice watch deserves a better movement.

Excellent review as always, and nice watch. You suggest that SM took loose inspiration from Grand Seiko, but Vincero has been making an automatic watch with a marble dial for a long time (and I realize I may get flamed for bringing up that brand).

It looks like the video contains two watches with marble dial. One has hands and hour marks in black frame, other version has white. I prefer the one with black framed hands and hour markers.

may San Martin elevate other PRC maker games. I am heavily conflicted between the lapis lazuli and aventurine, which one usually considered more rare / premium out of the two? I hope someday SM showcase PRC movement.

@@ShinyThings i am not well versed in movement, but anything to challenge NH35 / Miyota 8200 / 9015 is good imho. Some that come to mind are PT5000, ST3600, ST3621, ST16, the venerable ST1902, Hangzhou 5000. Sure some of it may be derivatives, but i think we of the working class (and of those who failed the birth lottery hence lower earning ceiling) would also like to have access to the world of mechanical wonders.

Da che mondo e mondo gli orologi si assomigliano. Vince sempre chi si attribuisce la paternità di una presunta novità. Sono in attesa del Dragone e quando lo avrò ricevuto e non sarò deluso può darsi che la versione nera o blu di questo orologio susciti il mio interesse. Mi piacerebbe che San Martin utilizzasse altri movimenti perché talvolta non è facilissimo spendere 300 per qualcosa che altri ti danno a 100. Vero è che l' utilizzo di calibri NH.. risolve l' ansia di eventuali malfunzionamenti per 2 buoni motivi: 1) sono affidabili 2) puoi comprare il movimento completo al prezzo di cappuccino e brioches a Londra😂😂😂😅

Seagull produces their own ETA movement clone that is said to be very decent, or would you think a 9K Miyota would be the best route to go? I think if they could produce a HAQ movement for their watches they'd rule to industry, as a lot of watch companies don't really do high end quartz anymore outside of "The Citizen" and Grand Seiko. Bulova and Seiko Dolce dabble in it, but don't make many appealing options.
