Yes, explained by Shinzen "as only he can". Nothing has helped me as much as Shinzen Young's explanations! Example from this talk: This system is"... Reactive,pro-active, interactive, and occasionally inactive." (*_*) !! His taped lectures that i bought years ago from his website are still a continuous source of extremely helpful information. Thanks for posting these!

I am not sure if a person is checking in on this account but maybe adding a title that this is his inner see feel hear mindfulness method would be helpful to some people. I had no idea this was a technique instruction and just happened to click it because I like his FIY explanation video and had no idea this would have an incredible impact on my practice!!! I found it around a time I hit a mental health bottom so I am thankful but some people might not know

First 10 minutes are the gold that clarified for me the what and (bonus!) the WHY of subjective experience.

The purpose of meditation is to bring oneself into a trigger practice. Standing still for long periods of time is painful, annoying, boring, etc. As the system interacts with itself it will eventually become accustomed to being still. So this allows one to work smart and overcome previous conditioning in order to maintain the meditative stance itself. Much like working out allows one to lift more weight over time being still allows one to lift more discomfort without getting tired or bored or annoyed etc because of it. This is an ideal situation which then should transfer into daily life activities when done correctly. Yoga is usually just akin to adding more weight to lift. Movement in stillness adds even more weight when done correctly and the most weight is added when one can achieve high degrees of concentration, clarity, and equanimity in daily life activities.

Thank you Stephanie for updating this channel once again! I was wondering if there are more guided meditations available by Shinzen. I have 6 of them (from The Science of Enlightenment) on my ipod, but i'd like more to mix it up a little :) Thanks!

Join 'feel in' to 'see in' with empathy; join 'feel in' to 'hear in' with sympathy; join 'see in' to 'hear in' with fantasy ?

@fatfrankblack - anything is possible. Mastering Shinzen's techniques might distract one from the whole point of mindfulness. Young suggests at least 10 minutes a day of meditation because just a little effort yields practical results, which I guess would include reduced suffering and development of concentration power. Check out his videos, just utilize a couple of techniques and don't worry about the depth and breadth of his teachings.
