In case you don't have a Switch, NAT type D means the connection is extremely restrictive and can only play with a few specific players, this is usually an ISP or router issue. Most people should be on type B for their connection Type A is the ultimate "unrestricted" mode and the only one that can connect to a type D, Haruna was probably on type A so they are the only one able to connect. TLDR it was probably not her fault, but her ISP's.

I've also noticed that Nintendo is weird with internet connections in general. My DS couldn't connect to my wifi growing up unless I ran it through a Hotspot, and my switch will be restricted on some internet connections, while my other consoles will be open

@@GumpierGoat2 the DS uses a very old WiFi adapter so you need either a network with WEP password (which is obsolete and not used anymore) or one without any password at all. If your wifi is on WPA2 (the standard) then it's totally normal. I don't know the specifics but it has to be the fact that most Switch games uses Peer-2-Peer connection, meaning that 2 Switches need to talk to one another directly, which is a lot more troublesome than you might think, your Wifi router acts as a protection layer (the NAT) to keep your device from connecting directly to another device outside the local network.

I had an issue at my last house where my console and laptop had open NAT types, but my switch was restricted. Just thought it was odd, and I've only ever had these issues with Nintendo consoles lol
