Wow! Finally, a view that really gives some great perspective on just how huge Starship & Starbooster(c) are. (Hmm, I think I like that name... "Starbooster(c)," I shall copywrite that term/name!). My silliness aside, that shot showing the men working on top of Starbooster in the "Interstage" where hot staging takes place, really shows just how huge that spacecraft is. We'll done!!!!

Can’t help but wonder what will happen to Space-X’s LR 11000 once all the vertical tanks have been scrapped. No more Ships to be lifted onto Suborbital test stands…gawd I hope they don’t lose her. I may have a small crush on that thing lol.

I’ve realised we’re not gonna see a starship 2 launch for a LONG time as to make the new boosters there gonna need to make a bigger building for stacking and to get them fully tested and static fired I doubt there will be a starship 2 launch this year
@Vatsyayana87
@Vatsyayana87 28 күн бұрын
Kinda, not quite. We believe Ship 2's will likely start flying on these older style boosters. The upgraded boosters will come later with the new engines, then the super stretch limos as Ship 3 comes along. I feel like we have even seen the new flaps for ship 2 on site already.

@@Vatsyayana87 V2 ships will probably only fly on V2 boosters, which is okay: The Block 2 booster is small enough for the mega bays

It is Block 2 they are moving on with when they have enough data with block 1 ships or V1 ships
@ReinReads
@ReinReads 28 күн бұрын
Block 1 goes up through Starship 32. They then skip up to Starship 36 which will be the first of Block 2. If all goes to plan test flights 4, 5, 6 & 7 will use the last of the block 1 Starships.
@Vatsyayana87
@Vatsyayana87 28 күн бұрын
To add to the others, there is a good chance V2 ships might still fly on V1 boosters for a while until Raptor 3s start coming in force, then a booster upgrade, then the super stretch V3 of the pair.

I wonder if ship 31 will fly. It made it back from masseys with the tanks pressurized, maybe they can find a way to swap out the electrical systems and use the ship as a data farm for future ships but I think ship31 has a 80% chance of flying, anyone else?

Maybe to guide the air flow better.
@thomashayden804
@thomashayden804 28 күн бұрын
I've heard it "cuts" into the air better with the points. The original aluminum Falcon 9 grid fins were flat but then they added the points once they switched to titanium (and then started with them on Starship). I'm sure there's a whole bunch of very complicated math reasons to it though 😅

It helps maintain control and proper airflow through the different regimes, hypersonic to supersonic to subsonic. From what i recall hearing a long time ago.
