Along the coast of Scotland, there is a small harbor created for one purpose, to chew up and recycle big ships. They tow the vessels with a tug boat, close the canal gate and then pump the water out, leaving the ship high and dry. Then, vehicles enter the dry harbor floor and begin the process of dismantling and hauling away the steel, to be loaded aboard another ship, which takes the steel away to be melted down and repurposed, for cars, or perhaps new ships. I find this both beautiful and fascinating and wanted to share it with you here.
