Ship of Fools (World Party) - Aimee Mann at the Final Gold Team Concert on JoCo Cruise 2024

This is a song that Aimee Mann wanted to do because it’s by a band called World Party, and when her first album was out, she did a tour in England, and they opened for them. The lead singer, Karl Wallinger, who died this year, sent a bottle of champagne backstage with a nice note. This is called Ship of Fools.
The next song is in honour of Randy Meisner, a member of the famously functional Eagles. He got fired from the group over this song, after a fistfight because he didn’t want to sing it. This was Paul’s karaoke go-to for a while. Now the stakes are higher, but the key is lower, ‘cause the Paul is older. I’m not publishing that song here, because Eagles covers get copyright strikes, so you just get the intro tacked onto the previous song.

So pleased to find this. I have been a fan of Aimee Mann's music since Til Tuesday and was at the Brixton Academy gig as Karl's guest when she opened for World Party. Really appreciate seeing the band doing this cover and great to hear her on bass again.
