Once, the Cunard ship QE2 was in Liverpool and I was on the ferry. The little whistle on the ferry blew a greeting and the QE2 replied with its deeper bass blast on its horn

From what I’ve seen, the whistles and horns of HMHS Britannic, RMS Celtic, RMS Cedric, RMS Baltic, RMS Adriatic, RMS Carpathia, SS Arabic, RMS Oceanic 2, and SS Britannic are unconfirmed because there is no footage of the ship sounding their according whistle or horn with their respective sounds in this video. I have taken the belief that these are placeholders.

Addition: Another unconfirmed whistle is RMS Teutonic’s. Also, Traffic’s whistle is incorrect. The recording is from Nomadic’s whistle being blown on steam. Traffic’s whistle is yet to be confirmed. It may or may not be the one making a cameo in Mauretania’s drydock clip.

@@GreatnessMyMiers Huh? Are you talking about Oceanic the Second from 1899? Her assumed whistle sounds like a locomotive to me. Plus, she had a whistle, and not a horn. I don’t know the first ocean liner to use a horn, but one of the earliest ones I know to have one was North German Lloyd’s Bremen, from 1929. (Note: I am talking about the year these ships were completed, not when they were launched.)

It’s sad how very few of them are still intact, some sank, others scrapped, and some are still above water, but heavily damaged/rusted. That’s so sad to think that queen Mary 2 is the last ocean liner, if queen Mary wasn’t a museum and finally being restored, she would of probably had the same fate as her sister ships 😞

@@GreatnessMyMiers nomadic was originally rusted, but salvaged, and brought back to her original 1912 state to stand in place for the rest of its life, while Queen Mary hasn’t been touched in a little, but she has gotten some work done, aka getting all of her lifeboats off Exept for three original ones, so as of 2024, I’d say queen Mary might get fully restored

Fun Fact: The third horn you hear from Queen Mary 2 is actually the original whistle from the first Queen Mary. Of course now it’s blown on air instead of steam but if you listen to Queen Mary’s whistle and the third whistle on Queen Mary 2 they sound almost the same.
