Hello everyone, I made two mistakes in this video: the food in the Golden lion is included in your cruise fare, it is not an extra cost. Also, I identified deck 3L as deck 2L. Apologies! Thank you so much for watching!

Thank you for this video! Wonderful to see this ole girl again. Took our cruise on the QM2 from Southampton to New York City in 2004, her inaugural year. Cunard has done a phenomenal job maintaining this ocean liner, as the public areas look exactly the same as they did 20 years ago. Our favorite hang out was the Commodore Club in the very front of the ship. Above the bar, they had a large scale model replica of the QM2 which sadly I didn’t see in your video. G32 nightclub was also a fun venue after the evening show, but wasn’t as popular with the older clientele, resulting in lower energy levels. With all honesty, I was in my mid 30s, and today I would have a greater appreciation for G32! Thank you for the memories.

Very well done. I have several QM2 trips upcoming its my favourite ship. I have just done a Queen Anne cruise it was OK. I will not be rushing back and will stick with QM2 and Victoria

The Elizabeth is a lovely shop, the sister ship to the victoria. The Anne had good service, yet much bigger and definitely trying to attract a younger demographic of passenger. Nothing stands still I guess. Anne reminds me celebrity ships.@@SheSailsAway

Beautiful video and narration! My understanding is that lunch in the Golden Lion is included in your fare, ie. at no extra cost.

Yes. The Golden Lion's food is complimentary. Drinks there's an additional charge.

Those details will come in a later video, but I did not buy any packages. I paid for internet by the day as needed, $18 a day

The Commodore club has spectacular views. Unless it changed the QM2's Golden lion food should be included in the fare. I know on Queen Anne it now charges.

Queen Anne charges for 2 dishes in the Golden Lion most are complementary

We also booked a sheltered cabin so I appreciated your video on that as well. Did you need special permission to film when no one was there? Loved that viewpoint! ❤

Thank you! No, I didn't need special permission in any of the areas that I filmed. I would get up about five in the morning to capture those empty lounges and pool decks 😉 I would definitely need special permission if I wanted to film inside the theater, or inside Princess Grill or Queens Grill type areas for suites guests only, since I did not have a suite. So that is why those areas are not included in any of the videos. thank you so much for subscribing! How exciting to go on your first ever cruise and to have it be a voyage on the Queen Mary 2! Wow! A positive about the Queen Anne the buffet is called Artisans' Food Hall 90% of the food is behind glass and served to you, I welcomed this

I'm finally finish watching your video. I got busy and had to put it aside. Thank you so much for this. I can't wait to go. I have a question for you. Did anyone in your group get one of the drink packages? I'm debating since it's my first cruise on QM2. I have other bookings, back to back and only considering a drink package on the my first voyage. I can drink almost anything, but not overindulgent in any area. Water is what I drink the most of. I've calculated per day, 2-3 high end beers, 2-3 high end cocktails/spirits, 3 hot chocolates/coffee, 3 large bottles of sparkling/carbonated water. I calculated this based on a previous cruise where I had a drinks package. But this cruise doesn't have but 2 port cities in the 9 nights, that I probably won't get off to explore which counts for the extra drinks. What do you think since an extra % is tacked on each drink that is purchased on the ship. I also understand that you can bring alcoholic drinks onboard when embarkation. Thanks in advance

I'm afraid I can't be very helpful answering this, but I'm hoping somebody else in the comments can weigh in. None of us bought a drink package, I don't drink alcohol or coffee, I spent my money on huge bottles of water. There were some people in my family that had the occasional cocktail so of course they didn't need the drinks package. I do think there's something to be said for the convenience of it, I have heard people say it's worth the money so you can grab a cocktail to sip on and not feel you have to drink the whole thing to get your money's worth. And to not have sign a slip or write a tip each time, as well. So that may be something to consider as well. I'm sorry I can't be more helpful to you! Please let us know what you decide to do and ultimately if it's worth it. Thank you!

I don't like dressing up at all. Would it be ok on gala nights if I wear dress black pants and a cashmere sweater, red for red and gold night, black and white for black and white night? We are sailing on Oct 4th.

I was going to mention Golden Lion the fish n chips, pie. Curry and think their version of ploughman's is included with fare but I heard extras menu item may have a cost but not sure that's on mary other ships

Thank you! Yes, I did make a mistake in saying that the Golden Lion was extra on the Queen Mary 2 when we went. We never did make it down there but I'm hoping to try it on the next ship.
