Great footage - harvesting's come a long way since I drove a Countryman 6 pulling a Shearer harvester back in the '70s in the WA wheatbelt.

It is amazing how far we have come since the early days. Imagine harvesting that whole field with a hand scythe?! Interesting to see the seed smashing blades at the rear in action (01:05). I have been involved with a new project through the University Of South Australia that uses twin high speed mills driven by hydraulic piston motors to annihilate the seeds to stop them from germinating. Also the company I work for installed the hydraulic system on the drive-over hopper that was built by Kilic Engineering in Adelaide. seen at 05:30. Great video & thanks for uploading.

It's imovie, which comes standard these days with any apple computer. Very user friendly. Plenty of tutorials on KZbin as well.

Were you harvesting wheat or barley?

Hi Gary. Did around 10,000 acres of wheat and 300 acres of barley. All of the footage was taken whilst reaping wheat.

I'll try to translate....4,000 hectares or 10,000 acres harvested this year. Averaged 8 bags an acre.
