lovely video ive just got into pole fishing my biggest question is the float to shot weight so (exp) if i use at 4x12 float its says on the graph its uses 5x no 10s but when use them like how its say the float bristle and some of the body is out of the water. so what i do is then add a few more shots to make just the bristle show but then what is the point in having a graph thats saying 5x no 10 shots if it dosent work and other videos am i missing something here or am i just thick.

Great vlog Des and Sonu. Des regarding topping up, would you ever add micos to your mix, if the initial top up didn't work, or add more natural particles? Tight lines👍
@Sonubaits4 жыл бұрын
Hi Matt, When it starts to warm up as we head into spring Des would look to add a few soaked 2mm pellets as something extra to hold the fish in the peg.

Another great video Des, full of useful tips, looks like my peg with the wind swirling everywhere, the only way to hold still is with some line on the bottom, Do you ever bulk out your GB with any soils or brown crumb as I believe the Thatcher's is a really strong fishmeal GB ?
@Sonubaits4 жыл бұрын
In cooler, clearer water conditions Des would tend to look to add either F1 Dark as this is a low fishmeal, fluffy mix to weaken the fishmeal potency of the mix. Or, if he expects the fishing to be really hard and more roach and smaller skimmers to be the main target then a percentage of So Natural Black Lake is added (which contains some Brown Crumb)

Any recommendations on a good pole roller? Looking for one as my old one is too short
@MrFiscality4 жыл бұрын
I swear by those sonu f1 feed pellets. Mix em through everything. This might be a good bottom for clear waters 👍

When do you use light and dark groundbait on commercial waters
@zeus-qv5ym3 жыл бұрын
Why do you pull the elastic before putting your pile back out after every catch?
@stevecadman30624 жыл бұрын
Why fluffy ground bait des .!
@Sonubaits4 жыл бұрын
A fluffier groundbait breaks down quickly and puts a cloud in the water which skimmers love to create when feeding. In deep pegs this bit of a trail of cloud can also help draw the fish down to the bottom when a ball is introduced.
@freddieclarke49854 жыл бұрын
It brakes up better and is easier for a fish to slurp up

Great vid Des. How far out were you fishing.
@Sonubaits4 жыл бұрын
11m 👌
@grahamrandle13044 жыл бұрын
And why did Des select 11m
@Sonubaits4 жыл бұрын
Fishing as far out from the bank was important due to the cold conditions, 13m or 14.5m would have been ideal but the windy conditions have to be considered so 11m was the furthest Des felt a balance could be made between distance and maintaining good presentation.

Des do u have two large side trays one with and one without the hood .? Just wondered if they fitted well together on box .?
@Sonubaits4 жыл бұрын
Des has an XL tray (two parts), and a Large hooded slid over the top. If you have a Large hooded and a large hooded you can achieve the same thing, albeit they overlap by an inch or so.
