As a cattle rancher from Kansas I love how you treat your animals, nice any quiet, low stress. Cattle pots (trucks) in Kansas can load 90,000 pounds if the trailer has a third axle. Cant drive on interstate highway but state highway are fine. I won an award one year for running over the most mailboxes with my rig. A good truck is about $160,000 new and the trailer is $90,000. Holstein steers fattened with grain are fantastic.

I feel like you have honoured the animal by raising it to an appropriate age, fed them extremely well, they live in great conditions and are placed into a well ventilated truck. I'm happy you showed this part of farming, its an often hidden part, which it shouldn't be hiding leads to dis-imformation, transparency leads to trust.

My father raises Angus beef cows and I definitely am happiest with the idea of the calves growing up with their mothers out on pasture grass. However, I think it is a wonderful thing that you all are able to raise up your steers and provide them with equal care to the heifer calves and finish them at home. I like to watch you all working with the young calves, because you can see the care and gentleness used which I think is lacking in some larger operations.

Jan, thanks for the inside tour of the cattle liner and the explanation. See them on the road all the time and always wondered how they were laid out. Don’t apologize for what you do. Farmers work extremely hard to feed our nation as we can tell by watching your videos. I was also wondering if you processed your own meat. Your family are among a select few that can sit down to a good meal knowing everything on the table was produced by your own hands. Not many can say that.

Before dairy farming , I worked in a UNION packing plant lugging beef quarters. HARD work, GREAT pay and benefits. It was in mid 60's when a few farmers started finishing Holstein steers on the TenderLean program.

Most folks just think they just end up in the store.... Vegan's have their choice too, but if they complain to other's that have made their own choice, they don't respect other peoples choices in life I guess.... So cool in what you show us folks that have no clue on how these things really work! Awesome.

Simply adjustable by yr smartphone following yr new feeding schedule. Thnx for showing this all. Well, enjoy the home grown beef, must be tasty! As I understand it (not a farmer, but i know some), there are scrap metal companies that will come to a farm and take scrap metal away, as long as the farmer has accumulated a certain number of pounds of metal. I'm guessing that three old cars and one old Versatile would not quite enough to justify a visit from the scrap metal company.

I bottle feed and grain feed them , I have raised beef steers along side them a couple of times to compare. Once the hide is off and it’s on the plate 99.9% of people can’t tell the difference. It is not what they are it is what you feed them that determines the quality of the meat. I am sure you already knew that , love your channel.

The 86 Chev pickup reminds me of my first brand new 82 Chev pickup. The steers loaded really well too.

What plant to the steers go too? Back when i finished cattle used to get paid 5-10 cents a pound less for fat holstein than the beef breeds.

Those are some nice looking steers! Love your videos. Had to laugh at your comment about the vegans. I agree with you about the medium rare steak though, no contest! Keep it up!

Nice tactful answer on the vegan thing. Great job young man! How bout some calving videos? My 2 favorites as a kid were calving and when they'd slaughter a steer.

Did anyone else instantly imagine the musty smell when he opened the truck door? not a dig just a common smell when you have to let old vehicles sit
