As a cattle rancher from Kansas I love how you treat your animals, nice any quiet, low stress. Cattle pots (trucks) in Kansas can load 90,000 pounds if the trailer has a third axle. Cant drive on interstate highway but state highway are fine. I won an award one year for running over the most mailboxes with my rig. A good truck is about $160,000 new and the trailer is $90,000. Holstein steers fattened with grain are fantastic.

My father raises Angus beef cows and I definitely am happiest with the idea of the calves growing up with their mothers out on pasture grass. However, I think it is a wonderful thing that you all are able to raise up your steers and provide them with equal care to the heifer calves and finish them at home. I like to watch you all working with the young calves, because you can see the care and gentleness used which I think is lacking in some larger operations.

As I understand it (not a farmer, but i know some), there are scrap metal companies that will come to a farm and take scrap metal away, as long as the farmer has accumulated a certain number of pounds of metal. I'm guessing that three old cars and one old Versatile would not quite enough to justify a visit from the scrap metal company.
