Just found this video, great info. I will be shipping my skoolie from Baltimore to Liverpool sometime in June and plan to use Seabridge as well. I've seen a few videos about the Baltimore end, but only this on picking up in Liverpool. How long, with the delay, did it take to get port to port? My rig is 36' long so a bit bigger than yours, and LHD. I'm looking forward to the challenges of navigating British roads!

Glad you found the video useful, it took around 12 days with the delay, it caught up a bit of time, it was due in on the Wednesday but arrived on Friday morning. It was a bit unclear whether or not it would get in so we ended up picking it up the following Monday as there is no weekend collection. Hope you have a great time in the UK, definitely a challenge in a large rig!! 😄

Americans. Snow and Curt just brought their van from Argentina to Belgium. They are in France right now. Tracking their days so they can get out of the EU countries as needed, so as not to overstay their visas. You’ll know their van as it is a white self built Promaster with a large black storage case in top. They will hopscotching all around Europe for the next 3 years.

Hi Ian, good to meet you. We definitely didn't consider hiring as it would have been so expensive for 9 months. We have looked at buying but for us it was more economical to ship a motorhome we already owned that was kitted out. That's not to say buying and selling is a bad option, it just wasn't for us this time. I just came across your video. Great info. We'll be shipping our VW Westfalia (you call it the T3) this summer. How difficult is it to fill up our propane tank there? I know that we need to get an adapter for our tank, but not sure what.

Hi thanks for watching, it's pretty easy to fill up with propane (we call it LPG), not at every petrol station in the UK but quite easy to find on Google maps. Hope you have a great time 🤩

Hi Both, I enjoyed your videos. Myself and husband are just about to buy our 1st motorhome and we are wanting to ship and drive round USA. We have done a 5000 mile journey before in a car and stopped at hotels but want to do a camper trip. We wanted to know how you got on with the Tolls I watched your 1st video on them but couldn’t see a follow up to it. How did you end up paying them? And was it the same way to pay in most of the other toll states. Thanks in advance

Hi Emma, we actually didn't have any issues with Tolls in the end, Florida was the only place with them and we couldn't pay so nothing happened 🤷but the rest of the trip was so easy and toll free. Glad you're enjoying the videos and hope that helps ❤️

Good video Gary. That is ridiculously expensive though. Is it so high just because it was a motorized vehicle? I know somebody who ships Airstreams (trailers not motorized) from the USA to UK and I’m sure he does not pay that much,it wouldn’t be worth it.

Hi Gary, for us it was the most economical option due to the length of time we were here. We know its expensive but we factored it into our retired travel budget early on. They actually charge by length, it would be interesting to know who your friend ships with, it may fit into a 40ft container and they are cheaper, but we are too tall for one 😀

Usually they charge depending on the volume of a vehicle. Soo, kinda, it doesn't matter if it is motorized or not.

Hi, I think it's classed as motorised because they have to be able to drive it off, if it isn't they will need to tow it off and that's much more effort involved 🙂

It's a British Motorhome, we shipped it to the States in March, did an 18,000 mile roadtrip and shipped back to the UK recently ☺️

Hi, no we are British citizens and shipped our UK motorhome to the UK to travel the States and Canada. It was relatively straightforward and the motorhome has been shipped back now 🤗

A couple of shipping companies, including IVSS UK and Lamprecht tell me I can't ship my Lithium-based house batteries in the RV; makes no sense to me. Has anyone else been told they would have to ship these separately?
