Great setup! Thanks for the video! Edit: back again after doing my own prototypes - looking at this, Freight Farms is like a high end solution, alot of it is well manufactured, like those tables and dosing systems however if you're starting out, it is much much much simpler than this. Still wouldn't mind one of these farms to play around in.

I trust a farmer in jeans and shirt as opposed to a lab coat.

Hmm 512 heads a week what’s the cost per head? A head is around 1 a head wholesale many 3 retail so on the low 2k a month? What’s the cost to run for a month?
@moosesnWoop2 жыл бұрын
that's not how the economics works. It's $/weight - not heads or other units. You could sell small heads, doesn't mean much. Yield is important. Standard farms will generate higher yields per acre, however vertical will produce more yield per m.sq Another major factor is the plant itself, if you're growing food that's in demand or rare then the price can increase per gram, however, if you are growing standard salad lettuce, you may turnover more (like every 1.2 weeks) however the price per gram is lower. Farming in general requires a lot of this economic prep.

@Jack NORTH This is a major problem lectricity costs have skyrocketed, making your produce way to out of pocket for the buyer Also, lettuce would be a waste at that cost, you'd make no money.. would have to look at higher end or rare produce just to pay back the cost to produce it.

Hi, Thank you for the vid . Are the strip led lights hugh power output leds or mostly found affordable strip grow lights?

Hi. Did you ever find the answer to your question? I'm wondering the same
@cagrikoru22873 жыл бұрын
@@psychospin1 Unfortunately, no. I guess the best thing is to invest a PAR meter and measuring the lights

This system is great but it can only be fully efficient if you install a 10KW solar system on the roof with a battery backup. Then you will earn maximum returns.

My entire career has been in maintenance of hotel / housing systems. where can I find the information on the maintenance needs of these farms. cost or parts when failures occur. redundancy so entire crops are not lost ? this can be a doable manageable retirement income base with lots of real human interaction in a time when it could be less.

Too complicated and expensive for nothing. My PVC and plastic greenhouse with rain gutter "nft tray system", 5 gallon pails, and totes from wallyworld with little pond pumps works just as well and I produce many more veggies... Looks cool and reminds me of "Universal soldier" tractor trailer. lol. KISS people

tbh farming was never simple, but humans are ingenious so yes, KISS!

What if you don't have soil?
@serenityfarmsprepping2267 Жыл бұрын
@@shaneluck2570 I grow almost all my veggies hydroponically. I have posted several videos showing just how easy it is with just a simple tote. Can even grow on a window sill in your home with smaller containers of almost any kind

How large is that shipping container they are operating out of?
@HumanSystems3 жыл бұрын
It is a 40-foot container👍
@moosesnWoop2 жыл бұрын
20m/40ft standard. Thing is the height and width is always the same, the lenght is the only difference. This is also a reefer container, aka refrigerated container (so it's already insulated with an aircon etc.)

So... 512 a week, €0.50 each means €256 a week.. minus electricity... Doesn't sound like a good business...

Hmmmm. Shiny, fast-talking, lab coats - and not one lettuce head in sight from the 500 weekly harvest claim. A number of questions arise, including how does a head of lettuce hang in place from a vertical beam? Why aren't you showing a working unit? Why is the sound completely out of sync? IF this is a functional system, it's certainly not ready for prime time. Buyer beware.
