Taylor all I can say is wow!! I can't even hammer a nail straight!! The last time I saw you, you were building the kitchen!! That deck is beautiful and don't mind what other's say. Folks always try to tell other folks how and what to do. Oh and it is so nice we finally get to see your lovely wife :-) . You were also about to get married the last time I watched a video. I’m glad that I found yalls channel, I’m looking at building a container house in the next year, I’m by far not a professional either haha I’m a new baby nurse, youtube has been an amazing resource for learning how to do these things, yalls house is great, sorry bout the haters, expecting perfect is absurd, y’all are an inspiration! The condensation I never would have thought about it happening on the outside was only concerned with it being outside :/ maybe a rhino lining or something 🤷‍♂️

Inspiring. My hubby, kids and I are in CA. Unfortunately our work is here and it is hard to transfer out. We want land and a container house but the permitting process sounds like it would be very difficult in CA. Love seeing your progress. Keep up the great work.

Head over to Harbor Freight or a discount store and buy a couple of stainless steel stock pots. They can be easily modified for use with Berkey filters and spigot. And no plastic in your water....

Looks great! How many containers, maybe you could show us a sketch of the design? Last house I built, decided against concrete counters, they look cool, but they are heavy, and stain easy, so I went with quartz in kitchen, and corian, bit cheaper, in utility areas. Cant really beat it.

What did y’all use for insulating the inside and the walls? We are thinking of doing a container home. Not sure what works that doesn’t take up to much of walls?

Denise Hawes 3” polyiso sheets fit nicely between steel studs. I currently have 6” on the roof and 3” on the walls. Works well enough, but I would recommend double the thickness or using spray foam for the full 3.5inches in the walls and for 6-7” on the roof. I used the polyiso because I got it for a ridiculously good price. Like $2 a sheet, as compared to $150 for a equal amount of spray foam.
