This is not a dwelling unit. The inspector is way overstepping his authority as there is no code for this, as it's storage unit. Therefore they're just trying to make your life difficult so they can get some fees out of you and make themselves feel important. You have my sympathies dealing with this bureaucratic nightmare.

Yes dealing with the this county inspector is fun. They came to inspect my garage he told me he would like to gave me do something different . I asked if that is code . He said no but that is what he wants to see.

Just found you channel from a Facebook post . We are also considering building a container home in the UP. Can I ask where you are located ?? Also are you happy with your skid steer with tires versus one with tracks ?? Love your Brittany too. We have a roan Brittany . Red and white colors are mixed and not segregated like the traditional

Thank you for the comment! We find the tires work great pretty much year-round, but there are times when it gets icy tire chains would be nice. We’ve even considered tracks over the tires, but it’s not very budget friendly. It’s an older unit but starts up immediately no matter how cold so we are very pleased, but given the option at the time we would have preferred tracks over tires. Aren’t Brittanys great? Tucker is our third, and we couldn’t live without one we love the breed so much!! Good luck on your build…let us know if you have any questions in that aspect if you move forward with it…one thing we’ve learned is no matter our knowledge of building, shipping containers are vastly different than stick-built. 😊

What did you do in that county to make yourselves political discrimination targets? Would have been easier to file a lawsuit. Point out other shipping containers in your county where those stupid requirements weren't applied of others.
