Good video! It should help people looking to buy... But, You should have mentioned that if people think these are super secure, they are NOT.. anyone with a diamond blade saw can get into them in less then 90 seconds, by cutting off the lock hasp... OR, taking 3 minutes, to cut a man size hole in the side. I know this from personal experience of having mine broken into twice.

I sold shipping containers from home online. Most Craigslist stuff is a lie. WWT (wind and water tight) are garbage, and Cargo Worthy ones aren’t that much better either. If you really want a container get a 1 Trip! Yes they are more money but you will be much happier I promise. My suggestion is to fight for a discount and do not buy one until you get it and use a credit card to protect yourself or pay cash on delivery.

Because I just went through this, I figure I'd share. Pricing is such a closely guarded secret in the industry. You know the containers simply must not cost the sellers very much. The markup is crazy from what I've seen. The current price in Colorado 20' standard, 1-time use = $4000+tax&delivery. 20' double-door 1-time use = $5800ish, 40' HC Standard 1-time use = $5200ish, 40 HC double-door 1-time use, $7800ish 😳😂 used units are roughly 40% less across the board.

I would want two like a couple of 20-footers that allow access in-between the walls, housing stuff on one side and a workshop on the other, I currently live in a single-car garage and only use the one side really as the newer garbage cans use up the rest. The workshop is just for tig welding. Small spaces are just the cat's meow. They're pretty much "Zombie can" proof and they have a military feel/vibe to them, I don't like the wood neither for walls nor drywall. I want something I can clean and fast because of simplicity. I'm liken those steel studs and spring nuts 🤪 being able to adjust for life as it changes, very good features.

Great information! I wish I could have bought a container from your business. Honest, and ethical, and you do great work! I bought used, but "refurbished", with a roll up door and two of those spinning type of vents. They pretty much just slapped some paint on it, calling it refurbished. It wasn't freshly painted. The first thing I had to do was remove all of the dried out, chipping caulk, and recaulk, all around the bottom, and at the seams of the wood floor. One section of floor is a metal panel, and with the old caulk chipping away, you could see day light. I opened the doors once, and couldn't get them closed by myself. Had to get friends (guys) to get them closed (should've watched them do it, but was pretty frustrated at that point). You can also see day light in areas when the doors are closed. Don't really need to use the doors, so at some point I will figure out a way to seal those gaps from the inside. It's empty now, and I need to clean up all of the dust and sand that has blown in, probably from the roll up door the most. At some point I would like to build in a small room (that will stay cleaner) so I can use it to camp in during the winter (it's on property in the California desert). Unfortunately, one of those spinning vents is in the area, and I'll need to figure out what to do about that. I was really excited to see the new window frames you featured recently. They seam to be a lot simpler to put together and install. Thank you so much for all of the great information y'all provide in your videos. And thanks for letting me vent a little 😏 Your friend from Yuma AZ ❤️🌵☀️⛈️🌈☮️🐎
@TheContainerGuyTV Жыл бұрын
You likely don't have brush seal around your roll up door so the whirlybird vents are pulling the dust in - doing more harm than good. We could sell you a brush seal kit that would help filter the intake air a bit but no promises on how to fix other people's poor products. Would need some BigAir45's down low as intake vents. Get the ones with bug screens and put a filter mesh material in them to filter the dust. If ever you need help plugging the roof hole, send us an email and I'll help come up with a solution.

I have a question, I live in Northern Minnesota, we have hot humid summers, and cold snowy winters with extreme temps. I just bought a 40' one trip container from a local supplier. I plan on storing a 1969 rust free classic pickup truck in it throughout the winter months. I've recently heard some people mention the containers will build condensation on the inside with changes in temperature and humidity. Do I have to worry about this causing a serious rust issue for storing the old vehicle inside, or what can I do to prevent or mitigate such issue from developing? Thanks in advance, love your videos! So informative!

I'm also in Northern MN with two shipping containers, one 10' and one 20' placed on 3" cement blocks over a gravel base. with about 2" of air between the gravel and the the floor of each container. What I learned is to have a two vents on the 10' container, one low and one high for Summer ventilation, and similar vents on the 20' as well. In addition, I had to place a 20 mil pond liner over the gravel, under each container to prevent moisture from wicking up through the floor. I went with 20 mil to try to keep wildlife from burrowing under the container. Before doing this I had a lot of condensation moisture in the containers.I found this to take care of the extreme temperature changes each day and each season in MN. I'm very happy with the results. @@BallstinkBaron

It does not have the bronze cert placard as with most containers but several smaller placards stating shipping by military air transport or sea transport. It does have serial number markings on the outside on all four sides but there is nothing stating shipping volume but it does show net weight and possible loaded weight. It is not a standard height of 8 feet but it sits at 7 feet high. We had already had a flat spot excavated and I wanted the containers with opposite doors in a line (back to back). They brought a flatbed truck with a crane and lifted them in place. It was quite impressive. The scariest part for the driver was getting up to our property. The truck is very top heavy with a container on and traversing a hill was tricky. That's a good price. We're metric in Canada as well.

New sub from Canadian Prepper! Do you deliver or do any work in the states?? I’m very interested in having a few containers myself. Thanks in advance!

Hi Lisa. Thanks for coming over! We deliver some modified units to the states or have people down there that could install our system.

Hello. I am interested in a container. Either a 53' or a 40hc . How do I get in touch with you? I'd prefer a new container but all depends on price

Here in Colorado, it's about $1800 more to have a double-door container. 🙄 I wish it was only $500ish more!

Thanks for the informative video! I know that prices vary by location, as do delivery costs, but what would prices look like for a one-trip 40' high cube vs a used (good condition) 40' high cube? Same question in re new vs used 53s?

10k?

53 foot is very hard to get. And the cost is crazy. A good used 40 is 8k in colorado. A 1 trip 40 is 10k. A good 53, if you can find one is 15k. 53 foot containers do come into sales but again very hard to find.

I live in Southern Maine. Looking for a "one time use" refurbished 20 foot container. Do you support The State of Maine area? If not could lead me to a reputable dealer? Thank You

Hey Channing I am just wondering do you do shipping container home builds for people in Ontario?, ty for the info.
@TheContainerGuyTV Жыл бұрын
Hi. Thanks for watching. Sorry, we don't build container homes at the moment.

@@TheContainerGuyTV awww Channing I hope you do soon because way things are living in a shipping container that can be fully customizable ain't looking bad at all, you seem like a genuine guy to do business with too, so if you ever build in the future I and my brother would love to see if we can get something done, just in planning stages at the moment, but you are in my top pick for sure.
