But where If you’re looking at Bucky head on, he intentionally avoids staring at the camera (player). Also adds extra meaning to him talking to the player and when he looks at the camera later on.

Actually, according to Squeaks, Brandon was a Starling well before any of the others. He may have gone after the others for 'impersonating his friends,' having worn the suits and voiced the characters in the past. You might've spotted their names in the credits for the '97 versions of the characters! But uh, yeah, becoming a Starling probably rotted Brandon's brain as well as his body. He was most likely the first Starling, dying of an overdose of fentanyl on set while still in the suit. Broadside couldn't have that, so they decided to use him as the first human test subject of the living minerals. On a more minor note, Broadside weren't 'trying to outdo Disney'; the Frontier Street Museum in Layer 3 makes it pretty clear that Broadside IS Disney in the Shipwrecked universe, what with the really obvious Steamboat Willie rip-off. Their actions weren't desperation to out-compete, they were greed, plain and simple.

I think Brandon died _before_ the others and was made into a starling before all that, we know that he died via overdose which is quite different than the literal murders. That and there's a video recording from the demo version of Shipwrecked where Olivia complains about Brandon "Still wearing the costume" coming up to her door at night and trying to get in. Then one night he bashed his head against her window for hours leaving a "Gross stain" on the glass. I think this is proof that Brandon was a Starling when he committed those murders, it just lines up too well. And about the Olive tape right after the Layer 3 entry stairway, that's definitely the statue/Husk talking, same voice! Also I'm unsure if you saw them but in the game there are notes around that are presumably written by Conner, they talk about the fucked up things we see in the game (the video and audio recordings, all the real stuff). Due to the notes, I assume that Conner put all that in there mainly as a way to expose Broadside for what they've done and to take revenge on Mark too but I believe that was merely a nice extra. I think he chose to put it in the game rather than go to the cops because of how massive Broadside is ("Who're they gonna believe? You!? You are _Nothing._" ) and because he knew they managed to cover up 3 people's deaths already so there's a clear reason not to trust the cops to get justice served. So, he decided to do it himself via the game.

Take this with some salt, this is a secondhand source, but apparently the creator said that Bucky was a starling before he killed his coworkers - the reason he killed them was because he saw them in the suits at one point (presumably at the park?), and thought they were impersonating his friends the characters. Idr if he was the first ever starling, but that's why he already looks pretty messed up in the suit in the videos, and presumably why he was wearing the suit at all - the video is seems to be from the POV of the victims somehow, so he wouldn't need to hide his identity wearing a clunky suit unless he needed to. (Edit, hit send early) Fantastic video though, this is one of the creepiest games I've ever seen, and it's so cool seeing it get all the attention it deserves!

It seems(?) like the second game is going to focus more on the starlings and the murders though (based off the fact it seems to be an investigation game where you "solve mysteries"), so we'll probably get more answers when that comes out. Which, personally, I'm really excited for - I think the first game kinda shoved the starlings a little to the side to focus on the developer drama in the end, so seeing what happened after/next will be really interesting.

That's pretty much exactly my realization time too. I still see the pose as being a nonchalant 'leaning over a countertop' pose, where Wolfram's chin can rest on the forearm occasionally when the head drops. TBH I thought it was really cute, a way to make it feel like the avatar was engaging with the game as if leaning in from the space between the medium and the fourth wall. Don't get me wrong, the cardboard box is also adorable but a little less integrated with the framing, if you get what I'm saying.

Oh! This is an Unfiction project! I thought it was gonna be a FNaF clone based on the thumbnail but I'm quite happy to be proven wrong. Unfiction games that you personally can actually play are pretty rare. There's a ton where you can just watch someone (usually the creator playing a character) playing the game. For example Petscop and Valley Verde are like that. So this is definitely something unique to the Unfiction scene.

My guess is that they were abandoned on the island to rot after the massive scandal involving the Rex Starling Mark probably tried to kind of rebrand after that, the N64 game and all, but they still were losing money, and so he let go Connor and his team, and Connor decided to expose the ugly underbelly of Broadside Studios

beaver scratch is actually just swapping every even numbered letter with the odd numbered letter behind it with u and v not being swapped in an attempt to trick you into thinking you are incorrect about the pattern, a simple yet effective way to spice up a hidden language by adding self doubt into the mix possibly making you abandon what you thought about the pattern and try and find a different pattern. (i doubted the pattern a few times while writing this thinking there was something i was missing.)

I've seen this happen with other games, most notably clustertruck where the developer, if the setting was set, would try to log into your game and then start to add random modifiers to their pleasure. I may be wrong about this, but I think Brandon died before the murders of the employees, not after. There's no dates really showcasing it, but it does explain Brandon's behavior - he was already a Starling. Can't tell if he really died by overdosing on Fentanyl, but it's possible. Also, Beaverscratch doesn't scramble letters at random. It swaps them in pairs. A and B switch places with each other, C and D switch places, E and F switch places, etc. So the corresponding letters to ABCDEF are BADCFE. It makes them messages surprisingly easy to read. I think there's also a reason why Chief Wulf is so important in some sections - he's actually a representation of Connor himself. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the other two wolf NPCs represented Liz and Harry.

Beaverscratch is actually a pretty simple cipher and very much not random. Just take every letter in the alphabet and separate them into pairs [AB][CD][EF][GH]etc. Now just swap the order of each of the pairs [BA][DC][FE][GH]etc. Doing this should result in the beaverscratch alphabet

To correct alittle miss information from wolfs part, confused ending (spoilers if you care) is only obtainable in the 1997 version of the game by failing one of the characters games. Once doing so the boat doesnt need to be repaired by playing chief wolfs game and you can leave at anytime to get the ending Edit: when wolf was refering to the eyeless olive in giovannis game, this can happen in any of the mini games depending on the order you do them in, if you do walters first and fail it and then go into giovannis, the lights out effect will happen and if you end off with olives, the effects will stack, with the lights out effect and ovens being scattered throughout the stage, the only thing that can be interacted with these effects are the ovens (which you can let explode or actually turn them off)

I get that the “mass of 4 that splits into two” is supposed to be Vandal and The Husk, but I feel like there’s nothing really there in terms of why they’re relevant. I guess The Husk has that moment in the end game I guess but Vandal just isn’t really seen or shown apart from one or two times, they both kinda seem underutilised? It’s a massive project and they take nothing away from the quality of it but I feel like in comparison to every other character they’re a bit left out.

the music and just sound design as a whole for this game makes me so happy i guess you could say? i've loved 'scary' sounding music since i was pretty young and seeing a game with some of my favorite horror genres mixed with incredible music and ambience makes my autistic brain so happy

This is mostly out of interpretation and from what I read but ... Fuck Mark Mullins, he didn't just cancelled the game but it was some sort of saboteur and they why there were jabs at their partner. I believe that after seeing how expensive is to maintain someone alive, he not only took money out of the project, but pretended that the game was bad just to find an excuse to cancel everything and focus only to prolonh his wife's life.

Man… this game is something else and i love it!! Though Wolfram, i don’t know if it has crossed your mind but i stumbled upon another video, one that may believe that Brandon was already a starling by the time the attacks occurred i mean… i kind of buy it because for a man in a mascot suit which would more than likely restrict certain forms of movement, he is incredibly strong and quick, especially when he was smashing Gary Wilson’s face into the Microwave with blood splatters and all. Fantastic video though, thanks to you- i am now obsessed with this game! xD

I love this game, it's very under rated atleast right now. I guess my only complaints are how the starlings are implemented, they're conceptually cool and I don't think this game would be the same without them, but I don't think we know enough about them (which yes I know, knowing less about a monster is better, but) it feels like with what we know and the info we have, they're weirdly irrelevant to the rest of the story, characters and plot. I think having some more info that connects the thread plot wise or at the very least thematically better would be nice.

Lmao during the Plaza section, my game must have bugged out because they stopped appearing for the rest of the time I was in that part of the game, not even Olive appeared with her black border gimmick Honestly, that felt more terrifying than if they were still there, I was scared that they were all going to ambush me at the very end, but they never did

So it all breaks down that when Conner received a flash drive from Broadside that was suppose to be about bucky and Co cogware could build the game he got a flash drive that exposed what was mark and broadside were really doing with taking past employees and turning them into starlings with they organic mass they found in the island,recordings of Mark explaining about them, learning about Mark using funds to keep his wife alive on life support just allot of dirty dirty stuff. I think conner knew if he stayed alive when he redid the game boardside idea would have not only killed him but his family as well..I mean they brought Rex back to life and he's nothing more but a screaming nonverbal looking thing they knew would be too expensive to just kill so they kept him around as blot...

You don't really need to sleep to pass the time after helping Stumbler to talk to JD. You just need to return to the Town Hall after talking to Stumbler at the Theater. And to anyone reading this who are interested in playing the game but haven't yet: You can access Stumbler, and subsequently JD as well, by choosing to explore the island some more instead of leaving immediately after you've done your main quest. 1:15:08 The recording clearly states that it's a random chest in Olive's minigame that vanishes when you get close to it, not Giovanni. 1:43:45 There are computers in that room but the important ones are those with green & red colors. That clue is that room's variation to the X's & O's clue that you need.
