This horse is pure love. It remains still all the time; none bad move or complain and knows perfectly what the farrier is doing. The hoove is quite healthy, too.

You can tell an experienced farrier when he trims the frog without being able to see it half the time!
@601salsa3 жыл бұрын
It is so nice to see that competent farriers and well trained horses can mame it easier to trim hooves even on larger breeds of equines. I know in some countries they literally tie the horse leg to a stanchion with chains...... it looks barbaric, this looked much more calm and friendly. Nice job

Hello! Love watching your videos, out of the few channels that I’ve perused for variety, you’re the best. Was wondering if perhaps you could consider having your camera stationary or perhaps add a second camera for stationary shots? In particular I’d love to just see a close up of your work while you work. I mostly watch on a phone when I can’t sleep and the screen is just too small to be enjoyable. Thank you for the consideration and again, love your videos so I’ll be watching either way. Cheers!

I bet the horse was more comfortable walking after that trim. My ocd would have me carrying a pair of scissors for cutting the hair around the feet. LoL. Great job!

I personally if I was trimming a hoof that had long feathers like that. I’d braid it back! It’s so annoying not being able to see what you’re doing!😂

Dave Pelfrey Same here, I was like clip that hair out of the way so I can see how he is doing the frog better! God Bless from Canada...🙏🏼😂👋🏼🇨🇦

Personally I just use vet wrap on the feathers for the trims...
@furyxvanity29462 жыл бұрын
Most people will kill you if you cut the feathers off a horse with them, shires, drafts, Friesians, clydesdales, Gypsy Vanners, it's part of their character and their look, if I cut off the feathers on a horse I was doing hooves with I'd get my balls cut off.

If you are wondering: this does not hurt the horse. A horse has no nerve endings in the hoof so to them, it feels like a toenail trim
@furyxvanity29462 жыл бұрын
Horses actually have nerve endings in the backside of the frog and the heel bulbs, the frog and the heel bulbs are what they feel the ground with, you can still cut the frog, but you almost never touch the backside of it, the part that is wider and has the groove in it, there are parts of that frog and triangle you can trim like in the video, but I was taught to almost never cut there unless there's dead skin, then its acceptable like where he was cutting the dead skin off, but anywhere else on the hoof there is no feeling at all.

How can you see what your doing with that hair in the way? Maybe pull it back and wrap it with something. Maybe foil? I give you credit, that job has to be rough on the back.

Shoes get removed for the trim and then they get shiny new shoes after
@Decodethefallenmoon3 жыл бұрын
Not all horses wear shoes. A lot of them go barefoot. Depends on the horse and the job they have/the demands that the horse has with their specific riding branch! Different types of shoes- or lack there of- are used for different horses!

How does the white stuff on its foot come off so easily
@k-popismylife66593 жыл бұрын
Think of it as our fingernails, that’s basically what it is so it would have the same texture as our fingernails. So the horse is kind of like getting it’s nails trimmed. We can’t feel our fingernails being trimmed neither can they, but if you go to deep it will become sore and cause the horse to go lame, same as us, if we trim to far back on our nail it becomes sore for a couple days.

No they have no nerve endings in their hooves their hooves are made of keratin like our hair and nails so it's pretty much like getting your hair and nails cut
