Shirley Chatters Bloom and her son Jonathan Bloom talk with New Orleans historian Al Kennedy about their lives in music and music education. Shirley Chatters Bloom is a violinist and vocalist who sang with Paul Robeson and taught at the Grunewald School of Music. Jonathan Bloom is a noted percussionist and dedicated music educator in New Orleans. In 2012, Shirley Chatters Bloom and Jonathan Bloom received the Clyde Kerr Senior Award honoring outstanding achievement in music education.
