My impression of Stanley and Shirley’s marriage is that they had this strong bond and that after her death he didn’t function very well. Ultimately he died five years after her death and he also was on the young side.

I need to tune in more for more of these outfits! I love the effort. I will be reading my first Shirley Jackson novel this december with the haunting of hill house for class! I did like the short story the lottery. I love that this book was so interesting about her life that now you want to read her whole backlist. It sounds like one I am curious to read maybe after I have read more of her works.

Fascinating. She isn’t my favorite author (and esp disliked Life Among the Savages), but the bio sounds fabulous. And honestly, your wig could convince me of anything.
