I had the good fortune to see Shirley's show in San Francisco in 1984- it was a spur of the moment matinee ticket purchase after work and I remember her saying she wanted to save 'some energy for the evening show'- if she saved some energy, she had more than anyone I ever knew! The businesses here can't stand her.

This is an excellent film on one of my favorite actresses, Shirley MacLaine, with Shirley herself speaking and others who have worked with her. We see a few and family photos. In one, you see a closeup of her daughter's face and you think you are looking at Shirley herself. The likeness is remarkable, You also see and a few short clips from her movies and other performances. Everyone should see her movies to appreciate her talent. My favorites are "Some Came Running", "Steel Magnolias", "The Apartment", "Sweet Charity", and "Terms of Endearment".

As great as Nicholson was in Terms of Endearment, the two scenes from The Apartment shown in this documentary underscore the unbelievable chemistry of those two lovably dippy characters.
