Shirley Muldowney documentary premiere

The new documentary “Shirley” gives us an in-depth look into the life and career of one of the greatest drivers in drag racing history. She just happens to be a woman. Bruce Larson and Big Daddy Don Garlits were in the audience for Shirley Muldowney’s new film and I hope you’ll check it out as soon as it’s available.

I met this woman in person… She is the real deal and she did not care who you was or what country you came from… She came to beat you at your best… I am so glad I got to sit down and talk to my moms idol in NHRA drag racing… I got to take a photo with a true legend of this sport that’s definitely in the top 10…🙏🏾💕✌🏾

I've been a Shirley fan for a long, long time (I was a drag racer in the 70s-80s). This woman has balls, no doubt about it. As for the film, it's well done with a good storyline/timeline, and great footage of her races and race cars. And this documentary will certainly appeal to women too, for obvious reasons when she sticks it to the guys. 👍

Replying to myself with two other thoughts: 1. Not that "Heart Like A Wheel" was bad, because it wasn't. It was a story and it was fun and informative. But "Shirley" is a documentary with a big, big difference in credibility and accuracy. 2. I spoke with Angelle in the mid-2000's, probably at E-town (I was just a spectator by then) and I asked her about Shirley. Angelle (who is CLEARLY a pioneer in the men's sport of motorcycle drag racing) replied with something like "She is everything to me."

Can’t wait to see it ❤ I live in Schenectady where Shirley raced. Depot rd. Etc. The night scene was so much different when I was younger. Shirley will always be a legend.

Shirley…..ma’am, queen, legend, one of my hero’s. I hope someone helps me to let you know. I’m cancer free for one year!!!! I beat it on the tree like It was Kalitta 😂😂 won in a holeshot but I won just like you. I want you to know you motivated a 28 year old guy down in austin with nitro in his blood. I really hope you know how incredibly special you are to so many people and I really hope you see this hahaha Even after you yelled at me in Houston to stay still while signing my shirt. You came around the table just to do that with the jr dragster Sitting next to you as you proved again why You are an absolute legend of a person. You said “STAY STILL YOU WANT MY SIGNATURE TO LOOK LIKE JOHN FORCE?!” Immediately everyone in line yelled STAY STILL!!! 😂😂😂😂 from the day I was in a wagon in Baytown my dad preached you are an absolute reason NHRA is where it’s at and in my treatment your attitude and interviews fired me up. From the bottom of my heart thank you pretty lady and if this reaches you I would be honored to help with Shirley’s kids, or just say hello!!! saw it on Samsung TV, just tonight. one of the great drag racing docs of all time. Shirley= true legend. the rivalry w Don was so good for the sport! so awesome to see their mutual admiration now.
