It was already explained in the main story of re village. Spencer came to the village looking for those caves for immortality but then ended up going to Africa instead, the mega my eye was found by Miranda and she eventually found it can store conciousness of those who died near it and conducted her experiments to save her daughter. Spent er adopted the umbrella logo and puzzle design from Miranda’s village
