Everything is relative, personally I've played episodes 1 to 4 so many times, that now I feel at home, I like the atmosphere, the music and the writing which is splendid so much that I ended up surpassing all that :) I would love to feel what you describe as in my 1st game, because the best thing about a video game is the discovery :)

This is a criminally underrated game, which came off the back of its predecessor, Silent Hill 2. Silent Hill 3 is a direct sequel to the first Silent Hill and there are some great moments along the way, which work really well to build on the mythology of the town and the story that they told in the original game.

No matter the game in this series..everytime the player runs past the monster(s) in a tight corridor, only to run into a dead end; my stomach turns when they have to run back because I never know how close the monsters are.

Akira is a master horror sound designer. And I didn't know this til recently but apparently he played guitar in a live band that went around touring and playing the full Silent Hill songs with that same chick singer! How funny. I wonder if they dressed up in SH theme lol

I never played this one - I was blown away by 2 and decided to skip straight to 4: the Apartment, which I completely lost patience with, within the first session. It just didn't pull me in like 2 did. It's too bad I skipped this one though - it reminds me a lot of 2, minus the relatable emotion and weirdness. But Akira Yamaoka back at it again with the amazing sound design. Not impressed with the monsters in this one though. All intimidation value, no uncanny valley, except for the reuse of the super creepy [hyperventilating] nurses. Thanks for sharing your walkthrough.

I can tell this is on the PC as its missing all the DOF effects.. it sucks.. there is no definitive best version to play this game. The PC is great, because you get a bit better performance and have the ability to get rid of that stupid film grain from the get go.. but it has worse sound mixing and quality and the missing DOF ( which admitidely makes some the cutscenes way better). The PCSX2 version is great because you can upscale it to 4k and has the best sound quality and all the DOF effects... but some of the cutscenes can be wonky at 4k... i honestly think the pcsx2 version is the better trade imo

Agreed, I modded the hell out of fallout 4 to make it survival horror because there's not anything good out. I've heard some good things about a game made by a Chilean studio but it still lacked that survival horror feel to me. Games like outlast don't appeal to me because I prefer a game where I do more than walk. The Blair witch had potential but they wasted it heck Alan wake had more going for it. Jesus metro last light was more a survival horror than most of these games.
