Context for English-speakers: A reasonably large percentage of my audience comes from Japan, so I decided to make a dubbed version of one episode. I'm temporarily putting it here on the bonus channel.

Oh Man, 1 minute in and its great for someone learning the language. Your japanese is clean and natural but still easier to understand for us gaijins. Spot on Dayo!
@CarloPlaya2 жыл бұрын
One thing I always wanted to ask, if you were to rate your Japanese from 1 to 100 how would you score? I imagine living/working there long enough (as a language teacher especially iirc) and learning it fairly early (maybe in school already?) helps, especially with the more complicated stuff for a Germanic language speaker like tonal nuances or sounds you don't use in English.

so will the Japanese viewers now flame each other for watching the dubbed version instead of using the subbed version?
I honestly hope that this happens, and that his Japanese audience grows. It would be nice to see, as many of his original audience were mainly Australian or Japanese, so catering to the other half of that would be cool. I also said in another comment, that he should alternate uploads between English and Japanese for this reason as well (and include subtitles for the other)

I get what you're saying, but dubbing work is hard, especially in conveying emotions that naturally appeared at the time. Reckon he'll get better at this if he continues to dub over old videos. But the better idea, to me, is to mainly concetrate in alternating between Japanese and English for new uplaods (with subtitles for both)
