This is kind of true, but shishilan did not have wave immune until 9.7, long after octo was introduced. That buff definitely helped it stay relevant for a little longer, but it’s not like shishilan has had that strength for a majority of its existence.

just wanted to point out that a. strengthen increases his damage _by_ 200%, not increases it _to_ 200%, so togelan/shishilan actually deals 150k damage when strengthened, not 100k and b. at 3:21 it says that 100 kbs is what made shishi good, but no, common misconception: kbs are nothing if you don't have hp. if shishi still had 850 hp he would still suck because kbs are skippable. imagine trying to fight a rain d./midnite d. if kbs weren't skippable. or imagine just how busted mitama would be if kbs weren't skippable. the hp stat is just as important as the kb stat. overall though, great video

personal thoughts regarding shishi and luffy: - Shishilan wasn't just dethroned by surge, it was more because UL decided to use a lot more piercing enemies with LD and stuff, even at the early states of the legend chapters stuff like Loris fucks Toge up so bad, Othom too, to a much lesser extent. it was also unfortunate that Shishi never even got to shine in one of the 4 Uncanny Legend stages, Dogu has omnistrike, Urs is too easy and gets cheesed anyways, Doron has surge and 99% weaken and Naala freezes and reaches too far. - I'd also want to say that luffy doesn't have it easy now anyways, as the current meta is much more fast paced, Nekolugas in general are pretty outdated, if you want a nuker Lasvoss and Balrog are right there and do luffy's job better. - Shishilan could be easily saved, not through Ultra Talents though, I want an Ultra form that gives him actual Nekoluga range or we want to exagerate give him omni strike. then you could have your surge immune added on top and it would fix two of Shishi's main issues: If he misses it's bad and loses tons of DPS (fixed by either long range or omni pierce) and protected against surges... altough I can definitely see Toge suffer anyways because at this point, his range just sucks for a slow nuker

I agree, with how the meta changes some units eventually fall off, I mean look at musashi. He used to be one of the best Legends in the game due to not many wave immune units besides Ubers, but as the meta changes he eventually fell off. He literally gets out class by dancer cats talents. The same situation happens here with togaluga, BUT we may see a ultraform that fixes all of his problems. And maybe someday the king may come back to claim his throne!

Nice analysis! I think you covered almost everything that needs to be said, although there are a few important things. One of which is that shishilan is succeptible to any form of pierce that can harm him, meaning LD and omnistrike are both devistating for him. Also, wave immunity used to only be a part of the True form, but that changed when wave busters released in 9.7. I think the wave immunity was the best part of the true form, as the increased hp and knockback counts don’t help him if he’s permanently juggled and sniped. The strengthen trigger change doesn’t really do much because anything that touched togelan triggered survive. I dont even think surge immunity talents can save him, as the anti surge meta is already heavily dominated by top tier ubers and busted no gacha units. Now for my take on shishi- The one thing I wanted to see with shishilan is dodge, as it is the only way I can see his main problem of being constantly sniped being addressed. This way, he can finish his attack without being interrupted and land nice hits on the enemies. It would also let him have a use for being knocked back by every little amount of damage he takes; that being more chances to trigger dodge. Unfortunately, even if PONOS were to add this in like a UF or via UT, it would be really weak because it would be limited by either a single trait target or having low proc rates against all targets. Shishi is pretty much done for and can only do what he was meant to do since his TF released. Having used shishi back when his TF released, I will say he was one of the best ubers in the game at the time. The Battle Cats uber meta is just an arms race with the enemies nowadays. The new units counter the new enemies, and those new enemies counter the new units, and so on. Units that were stuck back 5 years ago aren’t the same as today. Another example is Saber, who was considered a great generalist back then. Today, she is just an alright anti-floating. The older generation of units can’t compete with the newer ones. I got a bit sidetracked, oops. Anyways thats my 2 cents.
