@@GavrielRosario they had potential to be better characters, and more of an ensemble cast, but people really go too far with the meatriding of random characters. I can love a character like Tenten or Kiba's skillset, and understand why people feel they should have a bigger role. But the fact that so much of people's time is dedicated to convos of "if x,y, and z happened, Tenten could've helped defeat Madara!" nah bruh. people need to understand that certain characters are meant to play a small role overall. Some of the fanfiction I read is really great and is fun to look at for an expansion of certain concepts or underused characters. but people use these sorts of things to make unprovable claims.

The thing I hate about shisui Fans (besides the glazing) is that they act like he was done dirty by the writers, but he WASN'T. Shisui had one purpose, and that was to die, and this isn't me trying to downplay him because his death sets so much in motion like the Uchiha massacre and Itachi awakening his mangekyou. But shisui fans don't understand this.

Okay, I understand this. One thing people have to keep in mind is shusui was really a powerful shinobi. People talk about his defeat from Danzo, but wasn’t he defeated super easy by Danzo. Danzo is a near kage level shinobi trained by the man that knew everything about countering Uchiha’s fighting style. He also fought Danzo’s rogue black ops shinobi army at the same time. Shisui had people running at the sight of him, and was said to be the one of the fastest in the village due to the way he used shunsin. His genjutsu was on a higher level than people would see in uchiha, and he had amazing shurikenjutsu. The kotomartsukami is a good technique, but shisui was great even without it. Matter of fact people from outside the village didn’t even know of it, yet they still flee at the sight of him. Just saying.

Shisui got bested by Danzo because Danzo cheated. He had an Anbu who was a member of the Aburame Clan poison Shisui with a bug before Danzo ambushed him. So, Shisui's movements and chakra depleted rapidly.

I don't know if "cheating" really exists in the war-era ninja world. A big reason for why Naruto stands out even in his time is that he's upfront in a cutthroat setting where everyone else is cheating somehow if they can. It's pretty much understood on day 1 of the job that everyone plays to win. Up until late Shippuuden, deception and gaming the field is as much a part of battle as strength. I'm not saying that Danzo is stronger than Shisui, he def isn't, but far as battle between ninja go he won by being more resourceful. Leadership is a skill.

Hot Take: Shisui is a post Tenchi Bridge Reconnaissance mission Naruto Victim. Respectfully. Yeah I 100% agree, kotoamatsukami is not as strong as people make it out to be, and really is the only thing that makes shisui competent in the Naruto verse (outside of him just being a mangekyo sharingan user). Have you considered that he literally can't kill Tsunade at all? And that he trades blows with her anyway if he tries to attack... meaning she's fine and he's a pink mist. Have you considered that Tobirama is literally just a better Minato? Minato being extremely slightly faster and having no jutsu that give him any advantages over the stronger Tobirama. Have you considered that his firepower caps out at basic rasengan? While decently powerful, even part 1 Kabuto just gets up after taking one. Minato is very dangerous in the very specific contexts of a war where putting his mark on a target means nobody they know is ever safe until that person dies, and in the context where he only fights weaklings who cannot defend themselves. The flee on sight order makes a lot of sense, because if the man touches you you're now a liability to your military and everyone you love. Minato is the most overhyped character in Naruto, and that says a lot considering how overhyped Madara and Hashirama are.

Perhaps you don’t realize how battle IQ affects the outcome of a fight, Minato literally had the highest battle IQ in the history of the leaf. Tsunade is far too slow, and can easily be killed or sealed away. Her creation rebirth is limited, and she is too slow and dumb a fighter to spar with minato Tobirama couldn’t even use flying raijin with the same proficiency. He’ll gas out before doing damage. And WTF is extremely slightly faster? As far as the Rasengan goes, you tweakin if you compare Naruto’s 1st actual Rasengan he used on Kabuto, to Minato’s mastery of it. And Kabuto still couldn’t even utilize his healing factor after because the damage was too great. Mind you this is the same Kabuto that would have killed tsunade if Naruto hadn’t cut in. And one important factor you’re leaving out, he’s a perfect sage. Just chooses not to use sage made, because it doesn’t match his preferred fighting style.

I know Danzo lacks any on screen feats, but I’m pretty sure sure narrative wise, he’s relevant to Hiruzen. Danzo is still kage level. Narrative wise literally nobody is relative to Hiruzen. People who were ALIVE TO SEE PRIME HASHIRAMA looked at prime Hiruzen and said "nah, this is the real God of Shinobi here". Orochimaru is something like top 10 strongest in the 'verse and fails to beat a Hiruzen who is explicitly less than half as strong as he used to be, while having the help of immortal versions of Hashirama and Tobirama. Calling Danzo a kage level ninja is kinda disrespectful to the actual kage level ninja. Like... the 4th raikage is one of the weakest kage in the history of the shinobi world, and absolutely clowns on Sasuke, who then goes on to kill Danzo 37 times in a row without Danzo even being able to fight back.

At the time of shisui death itachi was 13 and shisui was 16. Itachi joined the akatsuki at 13 and that’s the same time he 1 shot orochimaru. At the time of shisui death itachi himself said shisui was stronger than him. So if we’re saying that shisui can’t fw orochimaru, that means that a matter of a few months itachi not only closed the gap between him and shisui, but then closed that gap between shisui and orochimaru as well. I think it’s more likely that shisui can box wit orochimaru than itachi somehow getting that strong in a couple months.

He shouldn’t have watched a DygoKnight video because in the Naruto community it’s agreed upon that he’s a terrible content creator. He’s incredibly uninformed, and has bad takes. He embodies the terrible aspects of the Naruto community he’s so pretentious that he thinks he’s able to power scale, and criticize the way the story played out. Not just tiny gripes but he has a series where he rewrote the entire series. Shisui lost to Danzo because he was poisoned. It wasn’t a weak poison it paralyzed him, and was going to kill him because it was tasteless/odorless also had no cure.

The Body Flicker is a jutsu that makes the user almost untraceably fast, because of how fast it makes the user it's generally only used for escaping and traveling. There are few known characters that can use it in combat. The Raikages, Bee, Tobirama, Minato, and Shisui. Just the tier of these characters should tell you something. Shisui is so fast with body flicker he can make physical afterimages with it, he can be in multiple places at the same time. Shisui's fire release is so hot he has to use water release alongside it so he doesn't burn himself[who else has this feat?] He's basically Todoroki. Shisui can use long range Genjutsu, he can hit someone with a genjutsu kilometers away from him.

@rifarira9160 Yea. Just read the itachi stuff. Itachi talks about Shisui alot in it, describing missions they've both been on and etc. We get a lot of never before seen feats in it, there is a one eye'd hyuga in the novelization the two must assassinate. That Hyuga has weak hyuga blood, hence the one eye, but he was capable of stuff like breaking through Jutsu using his Gentle Fist technique. Shisui threw a fire ball at him, and the Hyuga hit the weak points of the jutsu with the Gentle Fist and dispersed or split it. There are alot of feats/events we only get revealed to us through the novels.

Nun wrong with liking or glazing chars that didn't get a lot of screentime. Some take it too far sure, but ehh... I want to see some anthology shit where we actually go and see how strong folks like Kakashi's pops is- they said all THREE Sannin paled in comparison to him- or even guys like Sasuke's pops or the Uzumaki n' them. Also, Danzo likely made use of Shisui's Kotoamatsukami multiple times over the years to get his way throughout the ninja world. He couldn't use it multiple times in a day sure, but he could prolly use it once a day if he wanted to w/ all them Hashirama cells in him.

The Itachi video is low hanging fruit. Even the Minato one is too. Honestly if you did the Obito or if you do Madara overhype video then that would be incredible. With all these characters they are powerful and in a clear tier that most of us agree on. For a Madara or Obito video we have to adress the "Madara vs this group of people all at once. Same with Obito vs all these characters." and how they no diff or low diff them. I know you know what I'm talking about lol. No that video would make you stand out.

Itachi fans (myself included) overrate Itachi a lot. However Itachi was way closer to what people hype him to be than what people hype Shisui to be. So I agree Shisui is the most overrated Naruto character, not because people put him so high but they put him way higher than he has any business being ranked. Also agree with most of your chat I usually dont like Dygoknoght content but he got this take right.
