P1 is and always will be my favorite McLaren, actually had one pass me on I5 freeway one time,super random in yellow and green.

His Tim, interesting vid.. It's the first time I have heard anyone mention the longevity of the discs, and you're correct! They are in fact, almost immortal, even when constantly driven at 'race' pace on track. I know this because I did the design and development of the braking system (Akebono, who were a great partner to work with, supplied the callipers, pads and discs, which were manufactured at a sub-supplier). We: Akebono, the team at Mclaren and I, spent a huge amount of time and effort, not to mention money, to develop this super high performing brake system which has a number of patents and unique features/tech., but nobody seems to drive the cars!! ...Apart from Bruno Senna at Silverstone... which was great to see!

Im just the odd man out I guess, the P1 just doesn't do much for me. Very pretty car, I can appreciate the idea of it and I love how much Tim loves this car and pure/raw excitement that comes out of him like a child that can't contain himself. I think thats what I like best about the P1, how much real P1 fans are in love with it and the look they get when they see it if that makes sense!??

A friend of mine knew Richard Owen, who worked on the XJ220. He had a special book, all about the project, signed by him. He needed some money, so put it in eBay. 2 people bid on it. One in the UK who had an XJ220 and wanted the book to go with his car. The other, someone in Germany who got confused about the decimal point. He thought it was £7 when it was £7k! He contacted my friend and said he made a mistake, but he needed to take it up with eBay. He needn't have worried, the man in the UK bid £8k! So, my friend drove it up the country for him!
