What's happening, folks! I'm back with another Bee Gees reaction from their 1993 album Size Isn't Everything, and this time we listen to "Above and Beyond," a track with some tasty vocals and dynamic sonics (as well as a title-phrase seemingly moving in a direction I didn't anticipate). I agree this is a fun tune that could have been pulled from the late 60s and updated, and I always like a Maurice lead (or co-lead). The next two songs are two of the best tracks on this album - in the entire Bee Gee catalog - imo. A lot of fans will agree with me on For Whom The Bell Tolls, but I seem to be a minority in my love of Fallen Angel. For Whom the Bell Tolls is just a perfect song with a strong Robin vocal but also perfect transitions between Robin and Barry's vocals and some killer guitar work by Allan Kendall - I'd put this song up against any power ballad. Fallen Angel is full on Robin lead (with the hallmark harmonies) and one of my absolute favorite Robin vocals, plus the subject of the song is moving (even if a bit hidden behind an upbeat tempo). Can't wait for your reaction on the next two - thanks!

A bright, bouncing. happy love song with vocals from Maurice. Nice! That post-chorus section is really cool, and I like the extra lines that sound adlibbed. This is another one that gives me PSB vibes; something in the vocals or chord changes. Maybe I should really be saying PSB reminds me of the Bee Gees!
