What's up, people! I'm back with another Blancmange reaction from the greatest-hits compilation, though as I discuss at the outset, shout-out to Hand Solo, as he's made some of their studio albums available to me. In the meantime, we'll keep going through this comp, and the next song is "That's Love, That It Is." This song seems to indeed be about confirming what love is, and maybe its unpredictable and potentially unpleasant consequences, though I'm not quite sure of the specific themes. I think Blancmange are at their best with these big, dramatic statements that feel barely reined in and could loose their shit at any moment, and yet sooo danceable. What's not to love? :D

I heard Blancmange on my MP3 player on my trip the other day. Neil Arthur has the same accent as the people there. I somehow kept imagining him in a pie shop there.

They are similar to Erasure (not just because they are duo) in that their music makes you smile.

Love it, and you're right, that's one of the defining features of Erasure to me. I can't listen to them without being in a good mood, even when Andy's singing about heartbreak and pain.

I saw Erasure live at the end of the 80s, since then when I listen to them I see in my mind the singer in her ballerina dress, tutu included
