I bought a used copy of Rule of Rose for 6,70€ ($7,27) back in 2008 in great condition. I would have never guessed this game would become such a rare and expensive collector's item.

Just checked eBay and there's quite a few sealed copies of Rule of Rose around the £325 -35 mark. Some sellers have more than one copy for sale. For a game that's ultra rare I find that very suspicious.

Yeah I'm not sure what to make of it but it can only be a good thing cos some games are way over priced and I think everyone who wants to be able to play these expensive games should be able to ,so if the prices fall that's a good thing

What do you think about the supposedly discovered cache of PAL UK Rule of Rose copies in Italy on eBay? Are they real or fake?

If they're sealed I wouldn't trust them ,there are sealed fakes going around ,the sellers rely on the buyer not to break the seal in fear of the game being de-valued ,as in my video all ps2 carry the inprinted hologram, that can't be faked

@@accessarea6 The UK variants don't have a tear strip? Interesting. The tear strip on these doesn't have the PlayStation logo, the wrapping only has the Italian ASEI sticker which is found on games Italy, it's why some are saying these are legit.

@@wind2536 they could be legit I don't know but there are fakes out there ,I do know that when games are sealed in the uk they say playstation 2 on the tear strip but if sealed in Europe they won't say playstation 2 on the strip

That Jaws game saga that you went through is why I also test every game a day of or a few days after I get it whether or not i intend to play it right away. I dread being in the situation where I paid good money/a decent amount for a game and it turns out to be a complete fake or the media is too scuffed up to play when i eventually get around to trying it. Those sellers were shameless especially to be defensive after getting caught red handed like that. to then sell it onwards after being returned is just another level, It's crazy that level of sliminess. I'm thankful I haven't encountered anyone quite that bad yet, although I've had my share of getting scammed/being naive when buying and selling. Side-note I'm really enjoying the videos, it's cool to hear from someone talking about a similar area of interest. I'm from australia and buy pal games from all over europe as well as locally. Some of the states of my games like the cases and slipcovers etc as well as some of the discs you would likely find shameful, but as long as they play I'm completely happy. You definitely get what you pay for to some degree when you are on a budget although sometimes you do find one thats great for the price.

back in the day that game was banned in many countries and was considered one of the scariest games for PS2. Crazy game story though ! And i've never saw a phyisical copy of that game. At least not here. A cool gem you have right there Gradius was another great one, one of my first ps2 games, made me remember Raycrisis from PSX

I have the Xbox Crystal too, I've started playing on it recently, I'm loving Forza and Fahrenheit. I don't have the Crystal controller though, I have The Duke instead, but I'll probably get the Crystal controller one day to go with the console. I also have Jaws Unleashed but for the PS2, it's not worth anywhere near as much as the Xbox version.

Man I remember at my local gamestop store they had one copy of the game sitting there... being a middle school kid with no job/money an could only get one game, forgot what I bought but seeing that specific game on the shelf (and the only copy) made me curious... thought I'd come back one day an hope I could get it... cut to like 10... 20 years later an now the game is available to buy only on eBay for more than 200...300 bucks... what the hell...

Pretty sure the blue disk are normal cd discs that hold 700mb & the clear discs are dvd sized around 4gb, anyway thanks for sharing your collection

I think blue ps2 games are made on CDs as they’re under 700mbs being smaller than the ones on DVDs. That English UK Rule of Rose is neat…I had to settle for an Italian copy I bought about 15 years back. Great vid chap.

@@accessarea6 Yes, it’s fine to play. Although I will probably play the Rom from my modded ps2, as I don’t want to stress that disk. Another rare ps2 game is Wacky Zoo GP - I have a rare UK one which I picked up in a Charity shop for £1 - it’s a terrible Mario kart game with hippos. I bet you’ve got that one given your amazing collection. :)

Mate don't get me started on bootlegs. I don't mind people selling them but only if they're upfront about it and not asking full wack. Pokémon games on the gameboy advance are best example. The market us flooded with fakes off ali express that can be bought for a couple of quid each. Some people play ignorant and list them for nearly full or full price. I'm sure some people genuinely don't know but most do.

There is an easy way to find out if a PS2 game is fake just put it in. It won’t play. You have to have a free Mc boot memory card.

I appreciate the response. I have a copy of rule of rose too , I got it off ebay and was worried it was fake but it has the logos on disc so I feel better about it. But the seal didn't have playstation 2 typed across tear away seal. Do you know if some seals had it written across seal and some didn't. It had a silver sticker on back from digital bros who work with 505 games.

The uk variety sealed rule of rose didn't have the playstation tear strip because was banned in the uk so was all sent to Europe and sealed in Europe, ,but the problem is ,youtubers and collectors always presume that if it doesn't have the playstation tear strip it is a re seal ,which is not always true

@@accessarea6 OK sweet thank you. So I did see tear strip in photos but it was clear with no writing across it. So did they reseal rose when they arrived in Europe. Did the Europe copies have tear strip with playstation typed across it. Because I'm thinking distributor's would have shipped them to UK , few days go by or whatever a few thousand got leaked before ban. Why wouldn't they put tear away strip on plastic.
