Another great episode! For a potential future episode, im curious about all the similarities/differences, pros/cons, for all your options for the "custom-fit/universal" offroad segment. Deciding between 7100's, 5165's, and 8125's can be a bit complicated. Especially when you get into the "off-the-shelf" valving from Bilstein vs a retailer tuning them vs paying for an on-site shock tuning day. Or should we all just buy everything from Wheel Every Weekend and have them take care of it all? Thanks!

There are three reasons Toyota guys mount their rear shocks on 45° angles: 1. There isn't much room under the bed to fit a shock that has enough travel for Chevy 63's, so the motion ratio allows a shorter shock to be used. 2. Back in ye olde days, generic shocks had too much dampening for how light Toyota pickups are. So, by placing the shock on an angle it increases the motion ratio and reduces the dampening. 3. The most important reason is that ot was a fad in the 80's and Toyota people can't seen to move on 😂

Switched mine to Low Range mount using the widest points on the top. Then you mount the shock off the back of the axle and still get all the bump and compression you need. 11" 5165 nails it for anyone else that wants rear shocks on a OG toyota recipe to work.

I’m doing an axle swap on my YJ. Doing a JK axle under a YJ. Should I run a YJ shock or a JK and what do you recommend. It will have a 6 inch SOA. When will you air this question. EJS 2024 asked at the Northridge event.

Probably not the right place to ask but i was wondering if you can order the Blackhawk in a 2.5x 12@20.5 for my front and 21.5 rear? Im doing super duties under my 1st gen tacoma with a trailing arm rear. We just picked up Dougs pro-r and I'm obsessed with these bilsteins! Also, do you offer a in house shock tuning 101 class? I should probably know what I'm doing with these things!
