Most of the debt Spus have is secured against the new stadium, so it's "good debt". A good proportion of Everton's debt would be secured against their new stadium too. I don't know what asset United's debt is linked to, maybe players, but those are probably not appreciating assets depending on the age of the player. So we have "bad" debt and Spurs and Everton have "good debt" because if they get into trouble, they just sell the stadium and pay off the debt.

Yes, Spurs debt is "good debt". It was for the stadium, and increased revenues are about 4x the financing costs. When we finance our new stadium that would be "good debt" too. Not all Everton's debt is good debt. Before the latest takeover they had over £1b of financial debt (so ignoring liabilities, like transfer debt). About half of that has been from running at huge losses and taking on debt to cover those losses. And bear in mind they only have revenues of around £200m, compared to our £650m+ Not sure where they're at now following the recent takeover. Our Glazer Debt is "bad debt". We got nothing from that apart from the pleasure of having the Glazers owning us. That debt, and the RCF, are secured against the companies' assets, stadium, carrington, other land & properties, player registrations. We do have more assets than liabilities though.
