I'm cheap too. I've used common household oils in a pinch to fill shocks. You can find the viscosity of various household oils on the world wide web. Lol 😆

I've also experimented with ball point pen springs on the shock shafts 😂

Great topic. The Scx10.3 shocks are different too. The Early Bronco and the CJ7 give you 100mm shocks. Way to long. Not sure what that new Basecamp comes with but Im gonna find out. My favorite shocks to date are the 90mm Traxxas Trx4 shocks. They work great and dont leak. Take care.

The shocks look like the same ones as the cj, wonder why the don't have the gladiator shocks which are great. So true on the traxxas shocks!

Great vid I think people need to be mindful of their rig the terrain and weight of the rig will determine oil/ spring choices more so than the shock itself. Thanks for sharing.

I appreciate your thoughtful considerations regarding this topic! I to, can find no good reason to abandon any of the many Traxxas shocks that I just counted! They are excellent shocks for me. Anyway, I am on the verge of running 60wt all around in my Gen8. Just waiting on Amain. She's a little on the tippy side and spring tension alone isn't taking care of the issue, so I reckon some 60wt will handle it! :) Thanks Gerry!

Love traxxas shock, only have one set of many that are leaking, and 60w is my goto for top heavy trucks

Some good info Gerry thanks for sharing it. Great video, honestly the Trx4 shocks are top quality as far as rtr goes. I have my way of sealing up the Vanquish shocks so they do not leak, actually I like the Vanquish shocks extremely well, very smooth once built and sealed up correctly 👌. Same way guys cry about the DL shocks if ya take the time to run and tune they are a fantastic shock as well.

Iam always chasing my happy medium! Hot and cold, being lazy I want everything to work at 80 degrees down to zero.

Ezboy puts 90 weight in his desert lizard shocks on his trx4 K10. Is that a good choice for the trx4 high trails. Because I'm thinking about doing the same on my trx4 K10 as well.. Love your opinion. Love the channel Gerry

Dont know about DL shocks as I have never owned any but they are springless so 90 seems right.
