Started my business while working and worked weekends and evenings to get going. My boss found out I was working for myself as well at weekends so stopped giving me work. All just to make it harder for me hoping I would fail and come back with my tail between my legs. Now I have 4 staff.

I’ve been in a deep cleaning business for almost 2 years now and we basically do what this man do beside deep cleaning the whole home and not as a good of a job he does with the carpet. I can honestly say this job is way better then working under a company. I would highly recommend anyone to start and when I say start I mean start somewhere and don’t be afraid of failing.

I have never taken out a loan and neither should anyone else for any reason at any time. Loans = stress.

I would rethink the carpet cleaning business (owned it for right at 20 years). I added that on to my house cleaning business many years ago. Since then I have sold both but I would not advice the carpet cleaning business. Those guys under-cut each other so it is a race to the bottom.

@La Capone I've had many but right now I sell used appliances. 4 days in to the month and I've already sold $3579.00 of units, for a profit of $1519.00 in my bank account. I've never had a loan... not for a car, not for a house, not for anything. No, my family did not have money and no one gave me money. I worked 120 hours a week (168 total hours in a week) at Burger King and worked my way to where I am today. As for carpet cleaning, I knew another guy that wanted to start a carpet cleaning business.... he would not listen to me. I tried to get him to not waste his wife's family' money but he would not listen. New top notch equipment, brand new van all decked out with a nice wrap, invested in a nice looking website (no idea about the SEO), invested money in a marketing plan and ads..... 15 months later he gave it up. Too much work for not enough pay. I have a few more examples too!

I have cleaning company at home. And i can tell you. Its not that simple. You need quite alot of knowledge to clean a carpet. Plus, you cant just clean THE carpets. Companies would rather hire someone that does everything and not five different companies for saparate stuff. Research before you do any stupid investments.

@@owenwest7882 well on residential work you should start at about 75 for say 1 room and a hall and between 15 to 25 for additional rooms depending on size of room commercial jobs you would do by square footage I do about 15 to 20 cents a square foot and if the job is under 500 square foot it’s an automatic 85 bucks gotta make it worth your while most times you just price what you feel is fair and right just remember lots of competition out there so do a great job at a reasonable price and your name will get out there and referrals will flow in I don’t do any advertising it’s all from word of mouth and repeat customers good luck on your business

Daniel Flores he has 2 other employees it’s a small business but he’s doing great he started as a weekend gig now does it full time for himself. From what I know there’s isn’t a lot of expenses considering supplies are charged for the service. He has a full van of his equipment which he owns, it’s different considering a tire shop where you pay rent space plus other over head expenses. As he’s told me there’s slot of profitability and specially the location he has his business set up

Wow! That's my carpet cleaning guy! I always used the coupon guys until I used Richard. I had someone 3 weeks prior to clean half the house, then was recommended to Richard. There was a black line where Richard left off up to the other guys work and that's when I decided I was never using anybody but Richard. So another important point is...you have to be good, deliver...show up--show up on time! That's a huge part of repeat business when you work for yourself.
