Yellow flag = penalty. Penalties: Roughing the passer - hitting the quarterback in at least a second after he passed the ball. Late hit - when a player on defense hits or tackles an offensive player after he steps out of bounds. Pass interference - touching or interfering with an offensive players' route before that player touches or attempts to catch the passed ball. Off sides - basically jumping the gun before the ball is hiked to the quarterback from the center. There's a lot more and i'm basically paraphrasing these definitions but i'm pretty sure i'm close in their meanings.

The middle brother Osiris does not play anymore (got injured in college). Watch the Lions especially this year. They are awesome!

Most of these are what we call “Hospital Balls”. Like you said your “friend” throws it one way but the defender is right there on your blind side ready to put you in the hospital. And when the ref throws the yellow flag that signifies there’s a penalty being called. Sometimes it’s a dirty hit, and sometimes somebody was just offsides which is way easier to understand in American football than soccer. Love the channel. Need more vids like this or NHL. CHEERS 🍻 🏈

An illegal hit has most to do with helmet-to-helmet hits. Google 'targeting rule' to read the parameters of it. It's kind of complicated. There are more specific rules when the quarterback is involved. Any contact to the QBs helmet is illegal. There's also different aspects to the 'unsportsman like conduct' that can include type of contact with a player.

Because the positions are so specific in their roles, you can't just say the best player in the nfl. You have to say the best player at their position. Some guys block, some throw, some run routes and catch, some read and react in coverage, some rush the quarterback and stop the run. Its the only sport where players don't play both offense and defense. Its not about who's the best scorer like most sports, it's a team effort. The touchdown doesn't happen if the receiver drops the ball, or the quarterback throws a bad pass, or the other receivers don't draw defenders away to create the open space, or if the quarterback gets sacked because a lineman missed their block, or because a defender read the quarterbacks eyes and jumped the route. Its the game that involves the most teamwork. No one player can carry the team, some roles are just more important than others because a lack of talent in those roles is harder to overcome. Its a 3 on 3 chess game. Your offensive coordinator is trying to outsmart their defensive coordinator, your defensive coordinator is trying to outsmart their offensive coordinator, and your coach isn't calling the plays, but he is dictating the scheme the coordinators run to try to out smart the other coach. The difference is you dont move the pieces yourself, they have to be prepared and focused enough to move themselves to make it work. That's why I love football ❤

Well Mr Adam, when I played... many moons ago, during films when we would watch the other teams games on VHS tape... Coaches and players alike would comment and point out the habits etc of the "star" players on the other team. Coaches never called for us to hurt the guy, but we were told his stats etc.... One think we really had going though was we had the star during several of my years playing, a QB by the name of Major Harris who went on to play at WVU. You can google him. He had a very strong arm, but he was too early. He played in the late 80's the way QB's are playing today but the NFL wasn't ready for that type.

Illegal hits are typically hits to the head, when the tackling player leads with his helmet, or when a player hits a "defenseless receiver" but that last one is often vague when it's enforced in the NFL
@starpartyguy560514 күн бұрын
Understand that the rules of football regarding protecting players from being hit have changed over the decades. In the 60’s players would aim to hurt people so they couldn’t play anymore. Helmet to helmet hits were common. In the 70’s through the 2000’s, the rules tightened up, mostly to protect the quarterback. Eventually the rules began to protect players from things such as helmet to helmet contact, hitting a defenseless player, and the horse collar tackle, pulling a player backwards by grabbing the back of the shoulder pads.

There’s a lot that goes in to how much a player is paid. Their first contract is based on how high they were drafted. If you’re drafted first overall you make a lot more than the last person drafted. After that, you’re paid based on performance. Right now the highest paid starter is Dak Prescott who earns 60 million a year. The lowest paid starter is probably Brock Purdy who was the last man drafted and makes less than 1 million a year. Fun fact, Purdy has beat Dak in every game they played against each other. Purdy’s cheap contract is coming to an end though and might be the highest paid player next year.

A bad hit would be helmet to helmet contact, hitting below the knee, or hitting someone that's defenseless. Then there's roughing the passer for hitting the quarterback after he throws the ball, roughing the kicker, same thing but for the kicker, hitting someone from behind is generally frowned upon. A good hit is basically making impact anywhere from the chest to the thigh on an eligible player.

Good hits are mostly shoulder to shoulder hits or wrapping your arms around the waste or lower body. Any hit leading with your head or in which you make intentional contact with your helmet against another's helmet is illegal. Hitting a player after they have landed out of bounds is illegal, but you are allowed to hit them in the air to push them out. The quarterback has a lot of rules protecting them because they wear less pads, legal hits on other player positions can be illegal on the quarterback depending on the force of the hit. There are also many rules about block and holding, like the offensive line in front of the quarterback can't move at all before the ball is released or that is a penalty. Also to answer your question about why didn't throw the ball sooner, sometimes people are not open because being covered by the defenders, so the QB runs around or "scrambles" until someone is open also if it's a deeper throw it takes a few seconds to get down the field and combine that with big dudes running at you and players not being able to get open leads to the "sacks" or hits on the QB. Hope I didn't confuse you more because that's just the tip of the iceberg. I'd recommend looking up a video explaining the rules.
@fijidreamer400610 күн бұрын
when the yellow flag is thrown, the hit was not legal. One thing that I haven't seen mentioned is that is that the defender cannot lower his head and hit the offensive player's face or helmet with the crown (very top and center section) of his helmet. Another crazy thing is that most of these guys that got hit... got up and kept playing. That's one reason I don't make what they do! LOL

Adam that yellow marker aka flag is a penalty flag thrown by an official at the sight of a penalty if they see multiple penalties in one play, like a fight breaking out you'll see an official throw their flag up then their hat. If a player hits another player with the crown of their head/helmet, that's a big penalty that can get a player ejected from the game. Also, hitting a player while they are diving to make a catch, jumping to make a catch or not facing the area is called hitting a defenseless player. There are other things that fall under that rule too. You're not allowed to body slam a player either, that's a big no no.

Yellow flag is a penalty flag. Someone got caught breaking a rule 3:58 looks like helmet to helmet. 15 yard penalty and an automatic first down. Helmet to helmet falls under the "unnecessary roughness" penalty. These players are faster than they look on TV. Things you can't do: Grab the face mask or helmet opening. Hit a player that's sliding feet first (feet first slide ends the play) Hit a QB in the head, neck, or knee area when he's in the pocket. Hit a guy after he goes out of bounds. Grab a player inside his collar or by his nameplate from behind and pull him backwards and down. Lead with the crown (top) of your helmet, especially against a defenseless player. (Possible ejection in the NFL; mandatory ejection in College Football.) All of those things carry a 15-yard penalty, and if against the defense an automatic first down. On unnecessary roughness, if it's a borderline call and the player being hit is a QB, the officials are probably more likely to call it. QB is the most important player on the team. You can hit a player with your shoulder as a means of tackling. Pulling hair to make a tackle is legal. Rugby style tackle is legal.

Have of these hits are in games between Division rivals (groups of 4 teams that play against each other multiple times per year.) Another 35% are long standing rivalries between AFC and NFC Conference rivals. 10% are Conference Rivals. The remaining 5% are just random games with dudes chopping wood. Pat McAfee is definitely not Christian McCaffrey. Can't target the head, can't launch yourself into a player, can't pick people up and throw them down with excessive force, can't hit a defenseless receiver (just caught the ball and you hit from behind before they've had a chance to take a couple steps and turn upfield.)

Best QB is Patrick Mahomes, hands down. I won't say he's the best player overall because the positions are so different, but he has an insane arm and is deceptively athletic. Also very entertaining to watch. Also, Penalties depends on the situation. A hit on a receiver usually draws a flag if you hit them before the ball gets there, if you lead with your helmet, or you hit them while they're in the air and "defenseless". QB's are notoriously tricky to hit without drawing a flag because no one wants their franchise QB hurt so the refs can be a bit trigger happy with the unnecessary roughness calls, it just depends really on who's officiating. Any hit on a player out of bounds draws a flag because it's considered a cheap shot, as is hitting a player who's already on the ground.

If a player is in the act of making a catch he not yet taken a football move he is not considered a runner; the is considered a defenseless player, defenders are not allowed to launch off the ground and hit the player in the neck or head area. This will draw a personal foul flag and the offense will be awarded 15 yards. Sometimes officials use their own judgement and will call this penalty if the defender hit the player in the chest, and if the defender is leading with his head on a defenseless player. If a player is considered a runner and is not in the process of sliding their is no flag most of the time for head to head contact, unless the offensive player lowers his head into the defenders head but this is rarely called.
