Hello from Hong Kong. Just came across your channel. Thanks for sharing the current update, because I'm so curious about life of people over there. Here, our McDonald and McCafe menu are boring. Sales people like to use as a place to discuss contracts and terms with potential clients, high school students used as meeting places for social gatherings or doing homework, and some 24 hour McDonald are friendly for homeless people just sit over and napping till the next morning.

Same for Chinese children from 90s, MacDonalds was quality happy food😂🎉. It's not considered as junk food in China even for now, cuz a commom big size meal in Beijing costs some 10USD. Its more expensive than an average dish in a Chinese restaurant. Besides, MacDonalds' food definitely has more stable&safe quality control.

McDonalds and other burgerchains has always been a special thing for me as well in Sweden, so it's not just in Russia. Not because they are rare, because we have them everywhere (burger king, pizzahut, mcdonalds etc) and even our own two big chains. But because it's not that cheap here, it's very expensive actually (like everything), plus it's unhealthy, so when I was a kid the only time you went to burger chains were when you were traveling somewhere or such. As a grown up I almost never eat at those places either (because I prefer healthy food) so when I do, it def feels like a treat!

I'm surprised the new owners didn't retain the McDonald supply chains. I guess they had their own. I think the first time I had McDonalds I was 9 or 10 and it was quite a surprise. Our parents didn't have much money then. We never ever ate out. There were lots and lots of things advertised on TV that we never had. Massachusetts, grew up in the fifties and sixties.

My last time eating McD was in Roermond Netherlands and Milan Italy. However currently I don't really often to buy McD anymore, because there are another restaurant which have more various menus than McD itself. Even there are so many local version of hamburger and fried chicken in here which is way more affordable than McD, KFC and burger king.

As an avid McDonalds goer in Moscow (we have like 5 of them around, walking distance) i can tell you: there is literally no difference. The label is different, but the product is the same, except the absence of hash browns in the morning menu (yeah, i loved those). McDonalds food was 100% sourced and produced here for years now. So, no. This "it does not taste the same, because i don't see the arches" is BS.

Was there "Burger King" in Russia before? "Burger King" burgers taste better because they grill the beef patty. What matter is the beef patty has to be thick, fresh and juicy, then you will have a good burger. If the beef is too thin, then the beef taste dry and not too tasty. You get better hamburger from a restaurant than from McDonald or Burger King.

Looks like they ran out of the original supply and are using new suppliers now inside of Russia or maybe friendly countries, so it's not the same as the original McDonalds anymore but was for a couple months after the transition.

We find there's a difference from one McDonalds to another. Some are definitely better than others. We assume it depends on the store manager and how particular they are about how their store is run. We find an even bigger difference in kfc shops. Some feel quite dirty and some seem cleaner.

Quality control is what’s missing with those knockoffs. Why is everyone talking about healthy food options at those American fast-food chains? We don't go to these places for healthy food, we go for for the salt, grease & oil. McDonald's fries are cooked in different types of oil, salt, & beef flavoring. 🤷🏾‍♀️ We drink coke with it! A beverage we also use to tenderize a ham, clean a toilet, get rid of rust/moldew, clean grout, clean a car battery, & bake a cake. That is what we drink daily & it makes you happy. 😁

What I don't get is why re-brand the chain at all? Can't the company that took over just use the same logo, names, etc? Not like they can get sued. U.S. courts have no jurisdiction and every court in Russia could just dismiss the case. If Russia said McDonald's can't remove it's signs or anything, what are they going to do?

Russia had a full supply chain with western big brands in regards to fast-food and retail; so if anything is worse blame the middle management.. not the sanctions. Here in Denmark, we have had burgershops, especially McDonalds and Burger King, since the early eighties. Today, maybe the concept is a little worn out, but still popular. Of course, it can be irritating, that a McDonald copy in Russia is not the same as the original one. But honestly, I would be more concerned of sanctions on e.g. planes or cars. E.g. Lada is said to have made a new model without the traditional safety features like ABS brakes or airbags. Such a step back can, and probably will, cost lives when car-accidents occur. And new ideas - how about Russian hobbies? What do collectors collect? A summary of a new popular book?

I've never eaten a big mac. I always wondered what all the commotion was about. I think they just pay people to go to their openings. I tasted a delicious hamburgers which cost $5.00 AUD. Nothing will beat that hamburger. To me MacDonalds is all about BS. It's a lie if you ask me. Much about nothing. Stupid people eat this food if you can even call it food. I ate a few times KFC. I bought the fries which were so bad I took them back and asked them for fresh fries. They have a lot of preservatives in them. I avoid anything with lots of American style marketing and brain-washing. 😅

About the hair- I would have calmly done the same as you. In the US the vast majority of breads and doughs are conditioned with L-Cysteine which is derived from human hair or duck feathers. So ousting MickyDs was probably a good thing for your health. Not to mention accidental cannibalism. 🙄

I never understand this fascination with american fastfood chains...I hv mcdnl,kfc,dominos here in my city...but i hv never ever tried it...wellllll, i hv tried once in a wedding party... To me, its just the same as any other food with few minor differences... They are costly, though I am rich, I can afford it but still i dont go there, better to spend money in a local food store, local startup...why spend $6 on few pieces when you can hv one tasty chicken meal for $2 in a reputed local store...no need to indirectly send money to america...the more kfc,mcdnl you eat, they more you are sending your money to america.

Mc Donalds it became something very useless. And you can have similar restaurants or differents ones but that sell the same types of products but even greatest,bigger,tastier and cheaper. They think that europeans are bad people not at all, excepted for France their countries are even richer and people are very reliable and good at making lot of things.
