My Uncle was a member of the New Jersey Mass choir. And was a dynamic choir director at my church I used to attend in NJ. He was featured in this video. He was also the construction guy holding the beam. His face was also featured on your video when I clicked on it. Rest in peace to my late Uncle, Mr. Willie Pryor! 💙🕊

That's a romantic ballad. Story goes that in the beginning they don't wanted to perform it because isn't rock, but they finally did and become a huge hit. If you want to check their heavy rock hits there is some of them: Urgent. Juke Box hero. Hot Blooded. Cold as ice. Double vision.

I'm puttin this out to the community, maybe it's a small enough world... in 1984, (there's a reason for the description) my all White, middle class, white collar choir went to compete in NYC, we were in Battery Park and somebody in our group started singing this, we half heartedly chimed in. At this moment, an all Black choir arrived as well. There was a moment of tension as my group was from 45 mins outside of Detroit, and sadly a Black person was as new to us as a free roaming male lion. Then the miracle happened, someone in the Black group picked up the harmony and 2 ridiculously separated groups of people made magic that day as the 2 choirs sang this entire song in 5 part harmony. There were tears, hugs and we parted and I want so badly to thank whomever it was in the other choir who for a moment looked beyond color and remembered only the beauty of the music. I carry this memory with me every time i hear this song. Music really is the universal language 🧡🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻🙏🏻

Lou Gramm was the lead vocalist before he quit. Mick Jones played keyboards in this song. Lou Gramm is a fan of 1950s to 1960s r + b and soul. This is an original. Controversy. Credit says, "written by Mick Jones", but Lou Gramm claims credit + demands royalties. This is similar to Danger Zone: credit says, "written by Georgio Moroder", but Kenny Loggins claims credit + demands royalties. Great singing! 👨🎤👩🎤👨🎤👩🎤 Covers. Mariah Carey covered this song. Morissette Amon covers Mariah. Suggested video: Morissette Amon sings I Wanna Know What Love Is in MYX. Morissette Amon is from the Philippines. 🇵🇭 Suggested next Foreigner video: Waiting for a Girl Like You. 🇬🇧🇺🇲

So listening to this song on the radio back in the day, we all thought it was about romantic love. But watching the video, you can see it was mainly about love between people -- black, white, etc. -- ALL people. And that's a very lovely sentiment.

I watched a woman do a reaction to this video and song. During the whole time the video was showing she never once open her eyes to watch the video. I think the reason people love this song is because of the video that goes with it. Watch it again this time with your eyes open.

Foreigner was kind of groundbreaking at the time by bringing in a choir like that to sing the chorus in a predominantly white scene.... it was a moment in time of peace, respect, and brotherly love. Why can't we be like that everyday?? I remember watching this (on MTV) when I was super young when it first came out and tearing up because it was such a beautiful thing.

GREAT choice. Such an incredible song. Such an incredible band. True 70’s and 80’s legends. They have an extensive catalogue of incredible music. Hope you check out more. For example: Head Games, Urgent, Hot Blooded, Cold As Ice, and my personal favorite of theirs, Waiting For A Girl Like You, just to name a few. Their lead singer had one of the greatest voices ever, with some of the greatest rock songwriting ever. They simply don’t make music like this anymore. Soundtrack of my childhood too. Slow danced in 6th grade to this song at our school dance 😂 But the way the song builds and builds, then finally crescendoing with that gorgeous choir at the end, well, when they kick in and he goes full throttle with his vocals, I still get chills. And it actually makes me tear up a bit. Every single time. Even after all this time. Because this song is indeed, timeless.

I saw a Swedish film in high school in '98 whose English title was "Show Me Love," (I won't repeat the Swedish title) after the Robyn song, and this song was featured prominently in that movie. Obviously at the time, there was only one reason for me to see it (Google it - after you watch my man's reaction here...I was 16 at the time) at that age, but having watched it again recently, I really appreciate both the movie and how well done it is and how realistic it is for teenagers of that era like myself, and how great the song is and how well placed it is in the movie. By the way, the movie was NOT what I expected and while I was disappointed at the time as a teenage guy, I'm glad I sat through it now as an adult. It made me emotional how realistic it was, especially for a foreign film, of what growing up is like, whatever your gender or orientation is.

That's one of the iconic songs of the 80's. Check out the video "Motown Returns to the Apollo", a TV show from about 1985 (it's here on KZbin). This is the closing number to the program where all the performers on the show get together and sing as the choir. I remember it so well because Diana Ross began the number and, in her typical fashion, put the microphone in the faces of others so they could sing to her. She made a big mistake midway through the song and handed the mic over to Patti LaBelle. Miss Ross never saw that microphone again and Miss Patti brought the Apollo Theater to its knees.
