Yes...I agree. The Empress, her and Ming Yu are my favorite characters. Her friend seize the opportunity to bring her along with her. Someone you know through and through that won't sell you out (Like the 12th House Pisces/Disciple Judas Iscariot did to his friend/Teach Jesus Christ) the first chance that get to acquire materialism, position, money etc when its secretly offered to them for your head in return. She reminds me a lot of myself. Very smart, intellectual, Intelligent, strategic,slow to anger, full of justice, very respectful, honorable, full of temperance and tolerance for those that are offended by her heavenly given gifts. Looks like the witches and the Emperor (that perfectly mirrors him) are fighting the very heavens to prevent her elevation (Ascension). We both share a lot in common.

And when he says "If it was someone else I would behead them long ago" it means "Among the others you are so special to me, darling" 😅 Though I kinda liked him in the end, I think he got better over the years when he started to learn Yinglou's character. She was the only woman whom he later really tried to understand and win and in the end he did so. I give him a credit at least for that 😌

@@lol4lol993 I understand what you mean, lol. I think its because the schemes aren't as obvious as in Yanxi Palace, its a bit more subtle. And the tone of Ruyi has a dark and foreboding feeling like tragedy will strike at any moment. Also, the female lead refuses to scheme unlike Yingluo and Zhen Huan, but she's by no means weak and incapable to. She just straight up refuses.

@@berrys9173 I do like such stories but in case of Ruyi's Royal Love, my attention couldn't last long. I think that's because my brain was already etched up with the designated/intended characters as were portrayed in the Story of Yanxi Palace and when I found Ruyi, I wasn't ready to see the same characters from a different approach. I betcha if I had watched Ruyi first, I'd have perhaps felt the same for Story of Yanxi Palace.

It's a mix of two titles that the actress playing Wei Yingluo has played in. This drama is called Story of Yanxi Palace, the other drama is called Legend of Hao Lan. In this drama, the actress plays Wei Yingluo, who later becomes Ling Fei (Consort Ling). In Legend of Hao Lan, the actress played Hao Lan. Hence, Legend of Ling Fei 😊

But don’t think YingLuo is just gonna roll over and take it.

He is even a good person considering his position. he only decided not too mingle a lot about problems of the harem except whem necessary that is why emperess Fuca felt he was heartless. it is only wei ying the main actress that made him start mingling a lot and because he truly loved her. The emperor understood her character early but missed the reasons. she is indeed cunning, very intelligent and can plot easily. but she has a good heart, is very devoted and protects those she loves. He only understood this later. i think the emperor fell in love with her but did not realise it and it took him a lot of time to accept it. he started doubting about himself when he forced Fuchen to marry someone else. but since he had a good reason, what he knew about Yingluo' s character he pushed the thoughts aside. He felt he was protecting Fuchen and i think he truly loved him like a brother although he was jealous about him and Yingluo for a long time.I think he was guided by his feelings to give her that title but unknowingly; he really wanted to avoid her serving the queen mother and possibly gaining power. i don't consider Yingluo to be as innocent as people think it. She used the emperess for her revenge even though she sincerely love her later and admire her. She then used the emperor. Although she is intelligent she never understood him as a man at the beginning and only saw the stern emperor. She only learned to love him with time after he showed his weakness out of love for her. As for her actions you cannot completely blame her because it was difficult to survive in the harem without being ruthless. At the end my best character is Fuchen. He was reasonable and loyal. He could never have had Wei ling. he sacrificed out of love knowing how stubborn she can be. and showed his love all his life. yet he remained loyal to the emperor all his life and understood that above everything the emperor though of him as a trustworthy servant he could keep by his side for important assignments
