The Nazis didn't escape to Sweden or Denmark, they all went to South or North America with the help of the OSS/CIA (operation paperclip and "the rat line"). Göring had connections to Sweden long before the Nazi takeover. He was a fighter pilot in WW1, commander of the famous Red Baron's squadron (Yes, Snoopy's enemy). After the war he worked as a commercial pilot in Sweden where he met Carin. After the failed Beer Hall coup attempt in 1923 where he got shot, he got hooked on morphine, and was treated for this in Sweden.

@@frankkrunk thanks for your comment and thanks for watching. I shouldn’t have said “ a lot” I should have said “some”. Not “all” of the nazis went to the United States and South America. I know descendants of nazi soldiers and higher ranking members of the nazi party who live in Denmark, Sweden and Norway. I know them personally and have heard their stories growing up and finding out about their family history. Their last names were also changed from their German ones to more Scandinavian ones to fit in. There were thousands of soldiers and officers in hitlers army, Air Force and navy. Of course majority of them went to South America and various counties in Europe even Africa. America took the top scientist and researchers that aided with the development of weapons and rockets. A investigative report put the number between 8-10,000 that came to the United States under the CIA operation. It is stated that around 12.5 million Germans served in hitlers military. I really don’t think “all” of them escaped to the United States and South America considering they would blend in quite easy in Scandinavia being mostly blonde hair and blue eyes 😂.

Göring even lived in Stockholm. The nazis were very impressed with the "Race biological institute" in Stockholm. It even inspired them.
