I feel exotic now. 🤗 According to Ancestry, I am 50% Cameroon, Congo, and Southern Bantu 16% Benin/Togo 12% England,Wales 11% Ivory Coast/Ghana 6% Mali 2% Ireland and Scotland 1% Nigeria 1% Africa South-Central Hunters-Gatherers 1% Sweden The best part of this was finding out who I am. I never knew my father but thru the test, I can say that after 44 years of life I have finally met cousins on that side. I also met a 3rd cousin who has been searching for family after being given up for adoption 28 years ago. Well, whoever she is, she has me now!! It's definitely a life changer.

@@JasmineRose do you give a shit about your Scottish heritage? Scotland has a better history than Nigeria, Ivory Coast, Ghana and Congo combined. Most enlightenment thinkers and inventers came from Scotland (like your James Clerk Maxwells, father of electromagnetic theories and inventor of colour photography) Or you have Adam Smith,,father of modern day capitalism. I cant name a single Nigerian or Ghanan invention or inventor. Personally id be more proud of my 2% Scottish heritage.

Hi Octavia I've noticed that the dominant ancestry in all the tests i've seen is Nigerian and Ghana which are not far apart and I believe that they were the 1st "invaded" by settlers and traded which is why most of your results have more percentage of the two than any other African countries that are central or southern .

maybe Akan but not Ashanti. Ashanti are part of a larger ethnic group called the Akan. Akan in Jamaica are not mostty Ashanti but Fante from the Koromante section of the central region of Ghana. many Akan slaves also came from the region known today as Ivory Coast. Folks, there is a reason why Ghana and Ivory Coast are put together.

Greetings. You are mistaken in your beliefs about your results. You took the autosomal test which means your ancestral makeup is from both your parents. You inherit 50% from each parent (and consequently, there is another 50% you did NOT inherit from each parent). If you want to learn about your maternal line that is called the mtDNA; this test only accounts for less than 2% of your genome. The same applies for the paternal line test called Y-DNA, which of course, females have to have their father or paternal brother, uncle to take to learn of their paternal line. The autosomal test will provide you with estimates of your ancestral makeup contributed by both your parents.

This is an autosomal DNA test; therefore, it gives you a full picture. This test includes what you received from both parents. You are speaking of the patrilineal test. For that test, you would need a male relative. This test is very different from a patrilineal test.

I took this test. We are cousins! I have mostly Ghana and Cameroon also, as well as Nigeria. I also took African Ancestry and learned the Ghanaian part is my direct paternal line (my brother did that one) and Cameroon is my direct maternal line. It's important to remember that we all have a lot more than what African Ancestry will give you because each of our parents, and their parents, and so on will always have another line to add. So for direct results, AfricanAncestry.com is best. For the overall picture, definitely Ancestry.com

We all have Sandy colored hair. We all belong to the Cherokee nation in Virginia since birth. Our eyes run from blue to gray to hazel. My older brother has dark brown eyes. We were told that our sandy to blondish hair came from my great grandma. She came from Melanesia. But we never knew what % Melanesian she was.

African Ancestry only tested one line in your family. They just tested your direct maternal line, which is your mother and her mother and her mother and so on. They didn't look at the DNA of any of the men in your family. They just looked at the women in a straight line going back in time. 23andme and African Ancestry on the other hand tested all the lines of your whole family, which included the men. They tested all the regions that you are from. They didn't just test one specific line that came back to one specific group. So in case you didn't realize it; you took two separate types of tests, which tested two different things. So African Ancestry gave you your specific tribe. Your high Ivory Coast and Ghana test score on Ancestry DNA looks like it actually confirms you African Ancestry maternal line results of being from Sierra Leone. AncestryDNA does not test in Sierra Leone, Guinea and Liberia; so the Ivory Coast and Ghana is used as something like a substitute. But keep in mind that your test results are for different things, but they ended up supporting one another. If you get the chance you need to do some research on the Mande people, which is the group that the Mende belong to. The Mande include the Bambara, Soninke and the Mandingos, who are the founders of the Empires of Ghana, Mali and Songhay. So you belong to a very incredible ethnic group.

Hi Jasmine, nice video! I actually thought about doing a DNA study on myself. But my concern is the honesty of it, lol. Like you Said some of these dna companies cater and construct to their own focus of interest. I am from Nansemond County VA, and the history of Virginia and various states of the East Coast people of my skin tone were indigenous to those lands. So I kind of question the Integrity if it... Majority of my genealogy have been done by records (census, birth, death and land deeds). Any advice in that regard?

Yes, we have been divided, but we are one people: whether we are from Haiti, Jamaica, Puerto-Rico, Cuba, all over the Caribbeans, and not to exclude Parts of Africa. look it up, we have been scattered everywhere around the 4 corners of the world.. We are ONE PEOPLE. We are the people that have fulfilled this prophecy of the Bible Deuteronomy chapter 28, and pay attention to verse 68. where it says "No one will buy you, it literally means: "No one will redeem you" but our redemption is coming because Jesus is coming back to redeem the people of God that had been scattered all over the world. Yep, you may not want to believe it, we are the children of Jacob from the 12 Tribes of Jacob/Israel.. We have fulfilled all those prophecies, and now it's our time to wake up, because some big events are about to take place. we don't know when, and how, but it is written. What God had scattered, he will once again regather. Here is a summary of our history: also, do your own research: We've been lied to about our natural identity. We have been called Africans, but we are not Africans. the Africans people are: The Egyptians, the Ethiopians, (Some Ethiopians became Israelites thru intermarriages ) the Libyans, and the Canaanites. If we are not Africans, who are we? We are the Israelites, yes black Israelites from the 12 Tribes of Jacob/Israel. Jacob had 12 sons, and we are the descendants of the 12 tribes of Jacob. (Jacob was the twin brother of Esau, the son of Isaac, the grandson of Abraham. ) How did our ancestors get to Africa? They fled Israel during the Romans' persecution, in 70 A.D. where millions were massacred, and they ended up living there:central/west Africa until the real Africans started to sell them to the Europeans. they were selling the children of Jacob. Why did God allow that to happen? the children of Israel were disobedient. they were often called stiffnecked by God. God warned them that they would be scattered around the four corners of the earth. according to many scriptures in the bible. especially Deut. chapt 28: 68: the whole long chapter of Deut. 28 prophesied of the many things that would happen to our ancestors and it did. so God allowed them to be sold as stated in the book of Baruch. (not found in our present bible. cause some of the books were removed out of our present bible. the bible contains 80 books, not sixty six. the biblical Israelites were blacks, it is written all over the bible. the bible says they looked like the Egyptians. they could not tell them apart. In Amos 9:7, God says that his children look like the Ethiopians. Was Jesus a white man? look in the book of Revelation/Apocalypse 1:14, 15, Daniel 7:9, Daniel 10:6, the bible tells us that Jesus had hair like wool; (creole: linn mouton) his feet like burnt bronze. what color is bronze? The image that was given to us to represent Jesus is of a man called Cesare Borgia. (do research ...) If we are the people, who then are the people that live the land? read Revelation chapter 2 verse 9 and Revelation chapter 3 verse 9, Jesus told us exactly who they are. the story is very very long. information is available everywhere. As Jesus told us, every hidden thing will be manifested./revealed. THE BIBLE WAS NEVER INTENDED TO BE A RELIGIOUS BOOK, THIS IS OUR HISTORY BOOK. AND EVERYTHING WRITTEN are PROPHECIES THAT HAVE BEEN FULFILLED AND WILL BE FULFILLED TILL THE END OF TIME. IT IS TIME for US THE CHILDREN OF JACOB TO WAKE UP AND TO CRY OUT TO OUR GOD FOR DELIVERANCE. God promised to gather the children of Jacob that had been scattered around the four corners of the earth and to bring them back to their land. Now, this is our natural identity. It is important to know our natural identity, but it is of utmost importance to know our spiritual identity. that is we must be born again, born of the spirit of God. that is why God sent Jesus according to John chapter 3. what we could not do, he did it for us, he died for us, took our sins upon him. we must all repent of our sins for ALL HAVE SINNED AND COME SHORT OF THE GLORY OF GOD. THIS SPIRITUAL SALVATION IS NOT ONLY FOR THE NATURAL SEEDS/DESCENDANTS OF JACOB, BUT IT IS ALSO FOR OTHER NATIONS THAT COME TO GOD. In reference to the NATURAL DESCENDANTS OF ISRAEL, THE PEOPLE THAT WE CALL NATIVE AMERICANS/TAINOS/INDIANS, THEY ALSO ARE THE NATURAL DESCENDANTS OF JACOB/ISRAEL. THEY CAME FIRST TO THE AMERICAS in 721 B.C., after the Assyrians' captivity, THOUSANDS OF YEARS before the arrival of Columbus. (keep in mind that the original people were all blacks, the lighter skin colors is due to admixtures of white Europeans, history also has it that many women were raped.. (research) THEY WERE MADE SLAVE BEFORE THE SO-CALLED AFRICANS. IT IS AFTER THEIR GENOCIDES THAT THEY BEGAN TO TRANSPORT THE SO-CALLED AFRICANS TO THE AMERICAS THROUGH THE ATLANTIC SLAVE TRADE. They are the 10 tribes of Israel and those taken from Africa are the 2 tribes Judah, Benjamin, and including the Levites. The Levites were priests, they were not counted as part of the tribes. but they are the descendants of Jacob. The Haitians are said to be of the tribe of Levi..We were all stripped off of everything; our names, our God, identity, culture, ect. ...The names of the first people brought to the Americas on slave ships began, or ended in "Yah" Jesus' name is YAH-USHUA. the letter "J" only came into existence about 300 years ago. Wow!! SHALOM!!

@@Derellrassy87 Its not as simple as that, it depends on whether you are male or female. If you are female you will get 50 percent of both your mothers X chromosomes and 50% of your fathers single X chromosome but if you are male you will get 50% of one your mothers X chromosomes but 100% of your fathers Y chromosome.
@Derellrassy87

@@greeny202ab interesting since woman only carry xx chromosomes on males carry xandy chromosome, so a female will always will be identical 50 percent of her mother x chromosomes and basically on only from the x chromosomes from her dad still the y chromosomes might have dna lineage
@greeny202ab
@greeny202ab 5 жыл бұрын
@@Derellrassy87 Well not exactly. I suppose the best way to say it is that we inherti 50% of our chromosomes from our parents but it is a random process which of the genes within those chromosomes are actually inherited or expressed. The Y chromosome is much smaller than the X chromosome and is what we call the sex chromosome as obviously it determines whether a zygote will be male or female. Basically we all inherit half of our mothers X chromosome but females will actually inherit more of their fathers DNA than a male as the X chromosome has more DNA. This process is complicated even further by the fact that which genes are copied from the chromosomes inherited is random in the X chromosomes case but the Y chromosome is copied more or less unchanged from father. For this reason we use the Y chromosome to trace male ancetry but cannot use the X chromosome to trace female ancestry we must use Mitochondrial DNA which is only passed from the mother as the male mitochondrion DNA is used in the tail of the sperm to create the swimming energy and thus is left outside the egg during fertilization.

THERE IS NO JEWISH DNA, in the sense of the mythical Jewish Diaspora 2000 years ago . Only the religious aspect being the mechanism that caused a genetic isolation / Mutation and because of this you can identify certain DNA markers that members of the Ashkenazi Jewish group have , that are not found in others not even with the original semitic Arab Jews or any Jews .The European Ashkenazi Jews only became separate from the rest of their population after converting to Judaism by marrying within their religious community , because of this close marriages within a community we can identify certain DNA markers in them . From a DNA standpoint, this means that all of the DNA came from a relatively small population. You could find this with any group that shared similar isolation characteristics . The Amish like the Eurooean converts to judaism would eventually end up with an isolated marker due to community mixing laws ( if they do DNA which they don't ). Even so these European Jews would still share other identical markers with their European Christian country men which means that people who get Jewish DNA in their tests more likely means that you and the Euroean Jews share DNA with the other Europeans . These companies could have just left it at just 'European DNA' but chose to creat a racial tribe and fool people into their Biblical ideology and to condone the theft of Palestine . They're also the same companies who test ancient Egyptian Pharoes and kings DNA then claim they were WHITES from EUROPE .
@JackieLastrada
@JackieLastrada 5 жыл бұрын
So these Ashkenazi Jews are basically white folks from eastern Europe who CONVERTED to so-called Judaism. Sad. The real "Jews" DNA wise are found all up and down West Africa. Unfortunately, these DNA companies are not going to reveal this truth. But, TMH has revealed it for us.
@demdarkon
@demdarkon 5 жыл бұрын
Most of what you said is either not true or very misleading. Ashkenazi, Saphardi and Mizrahi Jewish populations have specific dna that ties them to the Middle East or “Levant”. Modern Arabic Palestinians and Ashkenazi Euro Jews have more in common than they do with other Euro populations. So whilst politically I might agree with you on the state of Israel and the religious issues i think you are being very dishonest or at least you are misled.
