always 1oz. I don't see why anyone would get fractionals, since the premiums are so much higher on those. Some people bring up the bartering argument, which doesn't hold up once you realize that you can cut up 1oz coins into smaller pieces if the need arises.

My current targets for metals are a little more modest since the prices have generally increased as of late. I normally default to one ounce gold but I've been buying 1/4 ounce coins more recently. As for silver I've been pretty selective and looking for the best deals I can get which has often meant 10 ounce bars. Seeing the potential for growth of metals in the next decade should be a wake up call for everyone. Thanks, Bald Guy!

ALL, business is best conducted on a, "two way street", with money going both ways at different times. @@cultleader3572 And yet, some of us have no debt of any kind. Spending never thrilled me but saving does, even if some call it stacking. Living below one's means is an absolute necessity and has been for some time now. The difference between what one earns and what one spends is what allows them to create wealth for a better financial future. Those living paycheck to paycheck can never create wealth, so they are always running on that hamster wheel. It's a helluva way to live but some choose because it allows them to spend more while others earn less and have no other option.

I have a really good question Bald Guy. If the stock market goes into a big correction late 2024 early 2025 and Gold is around 2700-2800 will the market sell off bring Gold back down 25-30% as it has in past history? Like 2001 gold was taken back down about 25% but bottomed about 15 months before the SPX did. Then gold had a bull run for several years but in 2008 was brought back down 25-30% in the GFC. Then gold had the strong bull run into late 2011. Do you see another similar scenario coming?

Chances are yes. Gold and silver spot is nothing but a market valuation. If the market crashes so will the ticker. Gold might correct more this time because it's value is bloated right now by central bank accumulation and wild pricing in of rate cuts that never happened 😂

Targets are whatever I can get while premiums remain this low. Silver is tough because we've all been left at the altar many times before but good things DO come to those who wait. I remind myself that the market, treasuries, bonds or CDs offer no insurance so ride the wave Bald Guy :). If you look at national debt levels, Japan is the real canary in the coal mine. The US has approx 120% debt to GDP levels, from what little info I could find the EA20 is running 88.7% debt to GDP. While Japan is currently running 268% debt to GDP. While the rest of the world has been raising interest rates the Japanese have kept their interest rates near zero.

You asked about type of gold and silver we are holding. Silver - 30% in constitutional silver, 30% in various size bars (100; 10,5 and 1 oz) 40% in 1 oz coins (half generic, half Maples & eagles). Gold - 65% bars (10 oz, 100gram and 1 oz) 22% in 1 oz. coins mostly Maples and 8% fractional ( 20 French franc and British sovereigns) and 5% on pre 1933 US coins. Value wise about 85% gold to 15% silver. Hope this will help you on your venture. Note also hold some gold/silver stocks and miners.

I'm a strong advocate for silver, particularly at the current high ratio. But having some gold is a very prudent idea. I think there's potential for Silver to begin at least a modest return to a narrower ratio(though it won't surprise me to see it behave as hit has in the past). But ever since the ETF was introduced, it's been smacked down pretty hard. Not financial advice, but I think regarding the ratio, buy Silver in the 80's and Gold in the 70's and you'll be just fine. Depending on the premium you pay of course. Smart money recognizes 90:1 as being VERY out of whack. It doesn't hold that for long. The wider it gets, the more attention silver gets. It's in their best interest to be range bound.

I buy 1 ounce U.S. Gold Buffalo's because they are 24 Karat coins and have a more "gold" appearance over the 22 Karat American Eagles which has some other metals mixed into the coin with the one troy ounce of gold. Britannica's and Maple Leafs are also beautiful coins to stack in both gold and silver. I also purchase 100OZ RCM bars because of theiqer premiums. Love your channel Bald Guy. I live in The Netherlands. I cannot afford gold. But buying silver with a 25% premium doesn't look that appealing either. Or would you still buy silver 1 oz maples with a 25% premium? See if you can find a reliable numismatic auction house. Forget the collectible items - see what bullion coins they have available. Should be very close to spot price (including fees). Be careful of auction house fees and factor that into your bidding. This works for me in the UK.

For the last year or so I have been only buying vintage 1 oz silver art bars. I completed my "bullion" goal so then I switched to vintage collectible. If you are in to art bars, you may want to buy the Archie Kidd 5th addition Guide Book of Silver Art Bars. In the 70's, there was a huge silver art bar craze that took place...and I believe that craze is back again according to the prices I have been watching on eBay. Anyway, its a fun hobby, and they sure made some cool art bars 50 years ago. Around 45,000 different bars were made in the 70's, and I believe maybe half or more were melted down in 1980 during the big silver melts which took place when silver hit $50.

@Eli-qr9hc You should research the laws in your country, as they might treat the .999 vs mixed gold differently. In Canada, the .999 gold can be purchased within a TFSA or RRSP for various tax advantages. Otherwise, they may be subject to capital gains taxes. The less pure gold might not he eligible for those uses and are subject to a sales tax, but aren't subject to capital gains. Also, some banks might accept certain grades of gold as collateral for loans (a possible way to leverage it without paying capital gains), but the conditions might vary. Overall, I think it best to have a mix, but your circumstances may vary.

Here in Australia there is a capital gains tax over a certain amount of money when selling PMs or anything else for that mater. So I think it's best to get both 1oz coins as well as fractional for we know not what they will sell for in the future and with everything else going on cost of living wise you don't want to pay the capital gains tax. 1/10th oz gold to sell when electric bills etc come in along with hyper inflation, even fractional silver for it just might be way up there in price someday soonish.

No not now… if you wanna buy fractional get quarter ounce. You can sell gram bars on marketplace for like $90 but most coin stores are going to give you spot when you sell.

Greetings, Bald Guy ! I'm a regular viewer, every day. I am, specifically, responding to your query about what sizes-weights ~ "fractional" ~ quantities of, Gold, should be available to the market. No doubt, Gold, although also manipulated, [ but much less than the highly volatile metal, Silver ] , really ought to offered by the, Ounce 1/2 Ounce, 1/4 Ounce and the 1/10 Ounce. I believe this to be both true and fair. Because, with Gold currently riding at about, $2,400.00 per Ounce, ...too many people just cannot afford to purchase by the whole Troy Ounce. But, obviously, many more people CAN afford to buy a, 1/2 Ounce = $1,200.00, ...1/4 Ounce = $600.00, or, a 1/10 Ounce @ $240.00 ..... plus, of course, premiums. And, speaking of, premiums, with total weight being purchased, I think that fair, reasonable premiums should most probably be in the, 1% -- 3% range. The lower the total price, the more people can afford to avail themselves of, "God's money", which has over the last, 5,000 years, proven itself to be the most stable store of value. JA, I know, years ago, Carl Ichan said, .."Greed, is good." JA, sure ....if, you're a Swine !! Only, intelligence ~ [ "WILL" ] ~ can create order out of nothing ! You know, Bald Guy, when judging cases, Magistrates, put a great deal of the weight of their judgement on evaluating, MALICE, whether the case be, "Malum In Se" ~ Evil, in and of itself, or, "Malum Prohibitum" ~ Bad or Evil by legislation of men. I don’t have the finances to go bigger. Could use some help…. One investor offered but I don’t want it monetized. A grant would be helpful. Think of a country with no energy resources that could manufacture and store its own energy… no imported oil needed…. Think cheap energy …. Think the improvement in living conditions and the balance of payments….

Before that happens, gold and silver may take further hit. Check out the COT chart. The biggest short positions held by bullion banks. 2020 March like schenario may happen in my opinion. When spot silver hits below 12 bucks an ounce, the lowest on the physical silver was around 15-16 btw.
