Samantha’s answer is a manifestation of the strong Filipino culture - the care for elderly and senior citizens. Care for senior citizens is even incorporated in the Philippine laws (just an additional info). It may not be the same with other countries’ cultures, but Filipinos are proud of her answer as she speaks from the heart, on point and with strong conviction. Although she did not win the MGI 2020 title, she is still a winner for us. And oh, she is a humble person and she acknowledges the winner. I enjoyed watching her with USA, especially her gestures during the crowning and with the Top 5. That makes me even more proud. Congratulations to USA and all the winners of MGI 2020! 👏👏👏

Both of their scores were back to zero. The only basis for the result was the final Q&A. I think it was Samantha who now sets the MGI standard a step higher and I don't think vaccines are already given to those aged 15, even the WHO prioritizes the senior citizens.

When all scores were reset back to zero, then nothing else matters but the final answer. Of course everyone has different opinion as to which answer deserves the crown. At the end of the day, judge’s decision prevails. Like I said, overall I’m happy with the result, regardless if what’s in my heart (and I’m sure same as many others) didn’t come out as truth. Samantha was amazing. She was enjoying each and every moment of the pageant. Her answer to the 3 way tie breaking question is the best and logical one, as a 15 year old boy will have the best chances to survive even without the vaccine, as his immune system is stronger. Again, most countries who have the vaccine right now is prioritizing the seniors FOR A GOOD REASON.....that is, to protect the most vulnerable. I do love Ms. USA even during her Miss Earth performance (she was very engaging, humble, and a darling) but Miss Philippines’s performance was solid, impeccable. Her answers were spontaneous, well thought of and intelligent. Great production by MGI, with great batch of contestants. I also love Indonesia, Argentina, Puerto Rico, Thailand, Czech Republic, Peru. This batch was such a competitive group. Thank you Samantha for giving pride to the Philippines, you represented the Philippines excellently. Thanks Sierra for your consistently objective analyses.

Like yah USA speaking in Thai was the only deciding factor for the judges. It was the extra point for her to win the title. USA is gorgeous but Philippines was the clear winner in the final question. If that was the deciding factor but I guess the final question was just an added twist to make it more interesting but the judges already have USA as the winner.
