This 'report' don't tell us some fact about perfume industry. First, main part of perfume cost is marketing cost. Most perfume's production cost is the cost of bottle and packaging not the juice or perfume oil. Cost of perfume out of factory can be as low as 1/10 of the sale price at the department store counter or even lower. This is why the main profit of some designer house comes from perfume sale. Second, perfume price can be positioned differently in the different market. So the people from market that has lower price can send the same perfume to the market with higher price for their profit. Third, now we have many synthetic fixative that can prolong the longevity of perfume with lower cost. Many low price perfume can out perform higher price perfume in longevity, projection and silage. Some original perfume has poor longevity too.

Yes its true there are Knock offs or fakes perfumes in the Market, But it is also true that there are High Quality Fakes out in the market that smells like the Original ones but less the price, that is why some of the Consumers switch to these ones because they know there are a lot more important things to consider than perfumes. Yes true, many online stores sell fakes and old stock, but not all. Just choose a reputuable online store. Look for the bigs ones, those with a street address (not post office box & mobile phone number only) and make sure they have a REAL shop too. Good returns policy and plenty of customer testimonials. If you're rich though, and have plenty of time then stores like Macys will glady take your money! :-)

It could still be a fake even if wrapped. Or old stock. That fragrance should absolutely NOT fade for at least 4 hours, so something is not right.

They All have chemicals. I'm the big market doesn't want the knockoffs to become high demand so they do this to keep us from buying them. I've had expensive perfumes that faded almost a hour and knockoffs that smelled or lasted longer. Do you happen to know of anyone lists counterfeit perfume sites? Also, stores that can possibly be in malls? I think a site would do more help than a video, video does no good helping us because what are we looking for besides a smell. I don't think we can smell perfume over a site. :P

dupes are fine and aren't harmful, it's just counterfeits you should worry about and stay away from, a counterfeit is a poorly made clone of the real thing with nasty chemicals and watered down fragrance being sold as the real thing. counterfeits are a scam

Mary Bass There's a difference between buying imitation cologne to the counterfeit. The bottle label to the imitation is not trying to deceive you. Whereas the counterfeit is selling as the original.

El Diablo a cheap knock off brand will perform for about an hour if your lucky compared to 8 plus hours on an authentic bottle so you probably so you probably spray about 15 times in one application compared with the fake to 3 sprays with the real stuff do the math stick with the Real deal juice

majority of women perfumes tend to last longer. There are 2 types of perfumes eau de parfum , eau the toilette. parfums are concentrated which tend to last you the whole day even if you sprayed yourself in the morning. If the smell wears off in as little as 20 minutes it is obviously a fake! So dont get it.
